Carrion of Depravity

Summons a Well of Deprivation from a nearby corpse. Using this well will afflict you with a subtle madness, increasing hit points by 22% and strength by 22%. The depravity reduces energy by 34% and intelligence by 34%.

Pretty sure it's level 42/44, it says well, but in fact it summons a giant hunk of meat on the ground. Quite an amazing buff for tanks and hp intensive fights. Atm I believe it gives me 1,100+ hp and 100+ str.

In terms of self-sufficient classes that can fight toe-to-toe:
clerics: healers in plate
disciples: medium armor healers that have attacks that heal themselves (ie, no spell interrupts/delays to worry about, plus you do damage while healing). you can use a martial sword for extra evasion in addition to their 15% evasion/15% spell mitigation stance.
dread knights: tanks with lifetaps
pallies: tanks with heals

Clerics w/ decent gear and the "War Affinity" are pretty insane.

No idea why this thread got locked, but some one was asking for helping ideas etc about vg. Gonna go ahead and quote it over here. If there was more then an asinine reason for the locking or Quineloe just being his normal douche self then please delete this post, other wise I'd like to help/get help for this person.

I started playing EQ1 with my most trusted and loyal mmorpg friend.

We got bored and disappointed by AOC and had the crazy idea of duoing monk/shaman on EQ1 classic. Well, we actually decided to play our own progression (leveling only on classic, kunark and velious) because we hate or are unknown to anything after planes of power. We are having a blast leveling our characters in kunark after all these years.

We suddenly thought about Vanguard (a game we never played) and wondered if it would be similar to EQ1 in some ways at this point. We like meaningful grinding, meaningful exploration, dangerous dungeons and overall difficulty that you do not find in WoW or AOC.

Does vanguard offer anything like this?

It's a fun game to play through once though.

I would say no, if any thing it's the in between of 30-40 where I found it most dry. Since you have two main parts of the group already made I'd say you'll have an easy time making groups. I have heard of people not getting groups at all for certain quest they need etc, but as it's summer I'm sure we will see a lot more people on during the day. Like I said earlier 30-40 seems to be some what of a dry spot, but when I got back into the game I was non stop leveling starting at 41. I hit level 50 very quick getting 1-2 levels a day just doing the quest and accepting whatever invites I got if I had the time for the group. I was also using "veteran pots" 2-3 times, and those are just amazing for xp.

Is buying it from Sony with the free 30 days the best value or is there some secret deal elsewhere?

40 bucks + 30 free days from Sony Station store.

Also, good race for Paladin + Bloodmage? Looking at Kojani or High Elf.

Do races on the same continent start near each other?

Kojanis have the uber racial (1hr timer - instant refresh to mana/hp - can be a lifesaver in close fights)

Interesting cache program they have now. Hopefully this allows me to raid w/ decent graphics o.O. I'm surprised they're getting this much done w/ the skeleton crew they're working with now.

its not gone. They said they had to take otu part of the code as they found a bug, but will go on live soon to be tested or someshit. ITs definately better now. Everything loads so much faster making you hitch alot less, but its by no means hitch free. At least for me. btw i have a crappy cpu.

Out of the 6 Gamestops near me, 1 of them has 1 copy. Does the free month still work from a retail activation?

All new MMO's come with a free month so ya. Its bound to the game key so just make sure its a sealed box.

Myself and KC were just trying to do APW, but the hitching/lag was so bad for some we had to cancel it =/. Not sure what they did, but hopefully something is missing, other wise this is one of the worst fixes I've seen in awhile. I try my best to keep a positive attitude towards VG, but things like this are so hard to dispute against ><
