| There is another transfer next week I think I'm pretty disappointed with Vanguard, given how my expectations were pretty low to begin with I'm surprised. The disappointment is especially on a technical level. Clipping plane lets me see a mile or more, yet stuff like rocks appear as close as 10y, mobs usually 50-75y. And then again on the NE Coast of qualia I can see these flying things at a distance of more than 500y? There's some really amazing graphical glitch with certain NPC hands Sound, especially environmental effects, are often way off. My high elf footsteps sound like some fucking ogre trampling through the woods. And the worst thing is that I expected groups to make up for all of these issues. I was told at level 10 the grouping starts, at 10 I couldn't get any groups, then I was told it's 15. At 15 I couldn't get any groups, so I was told 20 is where it starts. Now I'm 18, still not a single group despite being LFG all the time and announcing it and I'm too fucking tired of soloing in a very mediocre game just to get to the magic level where grouping finally starts. |

| That's what the Vanbois in the game said as well when I asked why I couldn't get groups and that I was bored of soloing. One even suggested WoW if I wanted to group more often for exp! No surprise VG is doing so poorly with mental midgets like you being the majority of the community. |

| It's too bad you didn't join up when Too Much Brown was thriving. There were groups every single night (usually two to three simultaneous) and everyone had a good time. The art assets popping up at 10m away is really annoying. I'm hoping (doubtful) that they'll fix this in GU5 when they fix the hitching, but not holding my breath. As for groups, yeah that's wearing on me too. I have four characters in three different level ranges that I sit there spamming for a group on, and that's getting old. It's been really difficult to find a group at any level since that transfer and I don't know how much longer I'll be playing.

+29 Internets | TMB had some great groups and I also managed to find the occasional pickup group. There's definitely the places to group at level 10 (or even earlier) and beyond, but the low level population seemed a little low. It's not entirely surprising given that the game is a year old already - surely it'd be easier at higher levels again. (same is probably true for every other MMORPG on the market) I've had some of the hitching problems, but I don't recall ever having rocks or mobs pop up closely ahead. |

| I don't really see that the lack of groups can be considered any sort of suprise. Whether you like or loathe vanguard as a game it is pretty obvious that it is now a niche title with a reservoir population most of whom will be at the higher end of the game. |

+1 Internets | Planning on starting after vacation next weekend. Questions: Which server has a higher population overall? Seradon or Xeth? Don't want to 100% rely on this board's population considering the ADD nature of us all ![]() Can all 4 healers be the main healer of a max level dungeon group? Using the overviews at Vanguard Healers Redirect they make it sound like Cleric and Shaman can and Blood Mage and Disciple can not. On the same lines, which healer is played the most and which is played the least? What resources should we use on day 1? Best questing site, best UI mods, etc. Any random other tips? Editing an ini file to increase performance, changing some option in game that'll make things 300x better, etc? Planning on Paladin + Blood Mage or Paladin + Shaman I think. How does the Patron thing work for shamans? Can you change them later or are you stuck with them? |

| I'm a 30 shaman so I can comment a bit. I think all healers are actually evenly played, all of them have off the fucking wall utility compared to healers in other mmos, Blood mages being the coolest class ever designed, and Disciples being pretty fucking unique in and of themselves. Shamans are around and about, pretty generic until you get to the patrons, then shit gets fucking cool. I went Rakuur (wolf) which means I can do sexy melee damage (for a healer) in addition to dot damage if I am fed enough energy, also nothing beats the awesomeness runspeed of wolf form + SoW. Bear form is the most raid friendly patron, as it has some madness endurance buff or something like that, and has decent melee damage. You can respec your patron for 3 Gold, although I am not sure if there is a timer on it (buy the respec totem from your trainer). I think the phoenix is the most underappreciated patron, why I'm not sure, haven't read up about them much. But seriously, rakuur and shamans in general for the win, the only thing shamans are desperately lacking is a heal over time (the other 3 healers all have one) although we do have 2 Healing Wards (ala EQ2 shaman), and a bunch of weird semi invulns (4 sec invuln on any single target + small heal insta cast, group physical damage invuln for like 6 seconds, short cast, single target spiritual damage (not so useful) invuln way later on, and Intercession which is pretty cool, 60% damage reduction on group, which then heals for a decent amount when it expires). All in all shammy ftw! |
