They have stated numerous times that the capture the flag pvp is a game, while the real pvp happens in game normally.

I much as I hate to be as synical as GOF I have to agree with him. I have no less then 5 mmos on my desktop and I mouse over and don't want to play them. This list does include WoW but thats only because I am tired of alts and I am tired of gear progression only. That list does not include VG or EQ/EQ2(they are not installed) the others are free MMO's.

Point being I just really hope AoC doesn't share the same fate as the rest of them fun for a few days/weeks...then on the list to uninstall eventually, because I just can't for some reason bring myself to load it up.

They will be separate servers, more due to content restrictions in various countries than any other reasons. Germany gets no gore so there is server side censorship. U.S. sqeaked out an M rating with T&A and fatality included, but I think the rest of Europe gets the full uncensored client (not sure if that means full frontal or what).

So basically, because governments can't trust adults with nude CG nymphs and blood cams, we can't just all play along... together.

I read that they can control all server side reguardless where the person is so you can play with friends on the same server and have different restrictions.

Based on ip address they set what you get and do not have to restrict where people from different regions can play.

They should have the initial box and expansion boxes differ from different countries due to restrictions. Like Germany's has censored models on the CD while Europe has full. This way Funcom can be legal on their end, and the end-user can overwrite their "model" file to have it fully un-censored; mod style.

In Summary, the actual files on the computer are censored but you can overwrite them with the gory stuff via modding. Funcom not being liable for the changes the end-user did.

Would that be a good idea, or is that still a no no?

Yowch! The rec system requirements seem a bit steep IMO.

Def need to upgrade my graphics card, and I should be fine on minimum.

aren't 8600GT's like 100 bucks now and that 2.4ghz processor is like 75 tops. I don't see an issue with that at all.

I ran this game on High with a 2+ year old processor, shitty base RAM, and an 8800. The reqs are pretty reasonable.

That's a bunch of horseshit. Most of the people who got an email are brand new tech testers while everyone that's been doing it for months got jack shit. Handling this as poorly as WAR handles their 'special promotion' invites.

Did you get a general invite too?

Saw a post that said of the people confirming to get in that 60 posts were from Feb. 2008 while only 6 were from Oct./Dec. '07.

That's fucked to the extreme, especially after the Thursday testers came in for a week then got moved all to the general beta while the previous testers from Oct.-Dec. still haven't.

I got the client installed and tried to patch this thing up for a Tech Test about a month ago. That was such a major disaster, with those complete fucking morons at FunCom releasing a massive patch the day of the 5-hour "test" and having a patch server that just plain didn't work (which lead to 95+% of the "Tech Testers" not even getting the patch to work before the "test" was over).
