| Personally I try to at least maintain my level of performance across the board. An upgrade here or there, maybe not to top of the line but to something better that will last seems worth it to me. But then again, I also do a bunch of work with CS on the side. I've never liked running on bare minimum machines. |

| Since we're talking about upgrades, PC power and such, Intel cut several CPU prices by 50% today... "Intel Cuts Quad-Core Price by 50 Percent If you’ve been putting off the upgrade to a quad core processor, I have good news for you, Intel has just dropped its prices by 50% on select quad core processors. In addition to the price cuts, Intel also announced two new Core 2 Duo processors. The 2.83GHz E8300 with 6MB cache for $163 and the 2.53GHz E7200 with 3MB cache for $133. The price of the Core 2 Quad Q6700 (2.66GHz) fell 50 percent from $530 to $266, while the quad-core Xeon X3230 (2.66GHz) saw an identical cut: from $530 to $266. Celeron price-cut highlights include the Celeron 430 (1.8GHz), reduced 23 percent from $44 to $34 and the dual-core Celeron E1200 (1.6GHz), falling 19 percent from $53 to $43." Lastly for those of you who do want to play AoC, Best Buys are now stocking the pre-order boxes with the Rhino mount and beta codes. Several on the VNBoard forums have in hand...

I think what a lot of people are missing is the 4 gig is for those fools who bought a Vista machine. Running 2 Gig on XP is fine. The requirements are high for the game, but it's not like you need a 500 dollar video card or a huge expenditure on parts. A fast 8800 GT costs 150 dollars. Most PC rigs come with 2 Gigs which honestly runs the game fine, as mine was ok this weekend. It's not like Funcom didn't think of the budget gamers, also. The 360 version releases in September.

| I run Vista and 2GB of RAM and I have no troubles with anything, even games as intensive as AoC. Time for people to stop regurgitating the same crap they hear and just assume is true because 'Vista is sooo bad'.

| But it's true. Just yesterday, I installed Vista, and it cancelled my WoW account, purged all my bank records, killed my cat, declared war on Bhutan and then signed me up for a year long subscription to Star Wars Galaxies...it's a menace I say! A menace!

| Ok I'll elaborate, in one post he implies AoC requires Over 2 gigs of ram for good performance then goes on to say in his second post he only has 2 gigs and vista and has absolutly no prblem with AoC...the avergage gamer part had nothing to do with it. |

In an unrelated statement, he said he ran AoC fine on Vista with 2 gigs of RAM.
