Those receiving the War Mammoth will also get an inventory bag from the beginning of the game, as the mount itself can not be used until you reach the required level for using mounts in the game.

So, what level are mounts usable in game? Since you can't use the pre-order mounts from level 1.

you're running vista with that set-up so you really want to have 4g of ram. i like having 4g anyway, but definitely for vista.

Here's a nice treat to tech testers. They are not going to be a part of PvP weekend at all if they didn't get in through Gamespot. Random fucking people off of the street will play more in 2-3 days than people who have been doing this 'fantastic best ever beta' shit for months.

You don't see what I am saying. I'm talking from a development point of view. Yes, its been a really shit beta for a lot of the testers, particularly the tech testers, but the development of the game is what I am talking about.


Just the facts that :

i) they have different sets of testers, doing different things and,

ii) the fact that one group of their testers has focused testing scheduled for them, even covering things like account creation,

are steps in the right direction for game development.


Yes it can be done better, yes a lot of it sucks ass for the actual testers, but I stand by what I said. What they are doing is a step in the right direction for game development. People need to decide what they want - at the moment it seems people want a polished game when they enter beta, which is the finished experience, when what is really needed - MOST especially in an MMORPG - is a beta that is a ball ache for testers, but helps in the development of a game.

Again I'm not commenting on the state of the game, just the beta process.

These can be done by the general testers just as easy as long as you have enough of them that can put up with a little 'ballache' every now and then. Seems kinds stupid to give one group free reign to go play willy nilly and oh just submit a feedback/bug or two every now and then and then to consistently kick another group in the teeth while showing them breif glimpses of what they could have had.

It's the single worst beta I have ever seen and I daresay even VG was handled better. And this isnt speaking on the quality of the game.. which is slightly better than VG.

Yes, it is true. It's not in tech or general beta at this point. No, the gamespot weekend has nothing to do with it. They are just testing the CtF BG all weekend.

You are looking at this from a 10,000 foot approach and miss the big picture of testing and beta, in your desire for it to be a 'trial'.

This is one of the better beta's in that the feedback has been absorbed and there are good, viable changes being made in an ongoing nature to a fairly stable and well designed game.

Your point should be you don't like how they do beta, and wish it was more like WOWs open FFA approach.

You also misrepresent that things are not in the game/beta just because you do not have access to them.

Most of the points in this thread about dislike for the game stem from people who likely never made it past level 10, or dislike the fact they volunteered to be testers, and are pissed they don't get free evaluation open ended gameplay.

They are rubbish.
