Okay, the downloader is acting real strange with me. Granted it hasn't been running for that long, but it seems to grab a single file pack at rather high speed, then stop and wait for ages before grabbing another. Is the p2p part still broken and I'm queueing for a connection to the main seed after every packet completes or something?

EDIT: Fixed itself after a reboot. Lord knows what that was.

from what i've been able to figure out it's not anywhere near as bad as vanguard

there will still be some bugs at release. there's 2 raid zones. there's zones for building stuff and i guess siege pvp is ready?

classes still need some balancing, but it's not a big train wreck

Review wise, note that the state of the game in most people's minds assume that Funcom has not been blatantly lying when they have been saying a few key things like keeps and sieges are actually done and ready, but it isn't being beta tested for various reasons.

If it turns out it is a lie, and the above is not in the game by the time people hit 80 two weeks from now, the game will look far worse.

I kind of doubt Funcom would commit such a gigantic PR fuckup, so I assume they have been telling the truth.

Was rather disappointed when I got to Tarantia last night and found that the lvl20 vendor armor is -identical- in looks and stats to the lvl10 stuff. Even low budget, free to play korena pieces of crap can manage to create gear. =/

You mean your mind isn't ruined by what McQuaid did? I'm basically going into this assuming that those things aren't in the game.

I think the current market is a bit too precarious for FunCom to fuck around doing something like blatantly lying about sieges and such-like being in the game already, and they know it.

A solid 90%+ of the readers and posters on this forum have max-level characters in WoW, EQ2, VG, EQ, LotRO, etc. that we could easily pick back up again - albeit perhaps a bit begrudgingly - after saying, "Fuck you, FunCom, you lying pieces of shit!". I'm sure they don't want 80% of their subscribers (most of whom they'll *NEVER* be able to get back) canceling during the first month.
