| I pre-ordered two nights ago and after readings these boards today I called Gamestop to see if they had any books left. They said yes and set one aside for me, that I can pick up tonight. So thank you FoH Forums for helping me get my copy :P Seriously though I was really skeptical about this game a year ago, but the more I read the more excited I get. Conq and DT sound amazingly fun, AoC might be the 1st MMO to get a Damage Dealing Tank Class done right. Or atleast I hope so. Last edited by Oblio; 03-27-2008 at 06:15 PM.. |

+39 Internets | German version is probably censored, but don't know about UK. It's probably a bit complicated since AoC is going for an adult rating when other games usually try to keep it to teens and up rating, so it might not have to be censored but well. Not like it matters much, you'll see uncensored clients on torrent as soon as the game releases anyway. |

| Kind of cool, and haven't seen this in a beta before, but they're having us tech test the billing servers by spamming registrations for it for an hour. Gave us 10 codes (don't actually work obviously) to make dummy accounts over and over to hammer the sign up process. |

| Ok as a german who likes to see some fatalities and play on european servers, I have to get my hands on a UK version... saw a preorder box (that said on the outside that it contains the key for a war rhino) today, whopping 48 euros (~75$), maybe it comes down in price since they had a lot

A few points to underline, that are important : i) Most importantly, having been in every major games beta, this is THE best, in my opinion, in terms of management of the game, organisation and development. ii) There are two sets of beta testers. general beta folk get to play the game most of the time. The vast majority of general beta invites going out these days are given to folks who are in the technical beta. If you get a beta invite now you are probably going into the technical beta, iii) Technical beta testers only get to log on for a couple of hours every week or so, to do specific jobs - eg this weekend everyone is hammering the account creation process. Then Funcom spend time working on the findings of those tests. iv) The beta client IS well out of date in terms of the dev and bug fixing work. Funcom state this clearly; the 'mythical build' with fixes IS a reality in this case. v) This is a 'true' beta. They are running a lot of debugging code while you play, so don't judge performance or graphics as a reflection of the live game. You're used to me, rightly, criticising developers for their management ability and control of their development processes. The opposite is true here. With respect to the companies development and management processes, I find myself turning into a Funcom 'fanboi'. Add that belief to the innovation we saw they are capable of in Anarchy Online and I find myself hyped about the game for the right reasons.

The build at the moment that beta testers are playing is no way near ready , if they do have a magic build I think it is time to start sharing it pretty soon. If they don't have a magic build and launch with the build at the moment or even a build 25% better they will lose so many people within the first month of play. The higher you go in beta the more you realise how much is needed to be done
