From my brief experience, there's definitely rewards for grouping. More xp, more loot, etc. Faster than soloing for sure.

Can we really believe a homosexual? I mean common...

Really though I imagine first 20ish levels solo then group from there would be best XP due to all the solo quests.

Have to say the combo of this new patch and the upgrades I installed today make the game run much, much, much smoother. Though maybe it was just the new hardware; went from vista 32, 2gig of ram and a 8800gts 320, to using vista 64, 4gig of ram and a 8800gts 512.

No stuttering / screen pauses at all during night or day. Game still lacks something, but maybe I havent' found a class I like yet (tried DT (10), Conq(11), and Assassin(9), kinda bleh).

All of the classes are pretty generic pre lvl 10 even then most don't get skills worth a damn till 20 + . They realy should of blended the skills better in the early lvls to give a better feel for the classes.

This is partly due to the fact that originally, they planned everyone to start out as a "Commoner" at level 1; you then become a "Rogue" or "Soldier" at 5, and once you reach... I forget what the level was now... you became your actual class, ala EQ2. It was this way about a year ago when I played it, but during last summer they changed it so you start out as your final class (even though you don't start getting class abilities immediately as a melee).

It's mainly a carry over from when the game forced you to pick a class at 20 much like in EQ2 (for the first 19 levels you played an Archtype.)

The using 4-5 spells normally is a shock? Hell thats 95% of MMOs these days, You use 4-5 spells during combat barring getting adds(using CC), having to heal + CC, rebuffs, and any reactive moves. Otherwise combat has always been this way, you use 4-5 abilities in normal pve, pvp is where most of your moves come into play.

this latest patch on CB seems to have fixed the issues i was having with artifacting, my fps and ability to actually play the game in old tarantia was greatly increased.. i just played for like 6 hours straight with only a few disconnects and no hard crashes.

Aside from EQ1 and crazian games like L2 I don't think you are going to see much of this anymore. The genre has been slowly turning more and more solo friendly since EQ1. With the success of WoW it has shown developers that the $$ lies with the casual crowd so you can expect AoC and prob just about every game that follows to be very solo friendly.

Even older more group friendly games like EQ1 and DAoC have made large changes to try and match the casual soloer life style. I can get 1-50 in DAoC now solo in less then a week with those solo instanced dungeons. EQ1 is still more group friendly but soloing is now a option which is wasn't back in the day.

If a games primary focus is PvP then personally I think the level curb should be easy going. At first DAoC made getting to 50 way to big a pain in the ass considering that the end game focus was RvR. PvPers want to PvP and not spend months doing half assed PvE to get there. I have no idea what kind of end game PvE AoC plans to have but I get the feeling the focus is on PvP so I can't imagine it is all that great. We shall see though.

how's that? I actually did that and now I get stuck at the loading screen (the progress bar doesn't show up at all). Waited for like 10 minutes and nothing happened :/
