Anyone else get the problem:

Fatal Error: Failed to download patch information

It won't let me get into the game basically or download the patch. I'm just not sure if it has to do with the servers being down or not. It's a big thread, so sorry if it has been asked before.

Yeah server is still down, so you can't log in at all.

Pretty sure it's because they aren't done with the downtime yet.

Yeah that's what I figured. I just got around to installing tonight and wanted to make sure my client wasn't fubared.

Open Beta did not convince me to preorder. Game might end up being great... if so, I'll just pickup the game down the road. Right now it seems sorta meh.

Shiny new toy interested me for a weekend, but a month down the road it won't be new or shiny.

(I actually think the open beta has been smoother than wow's OB, at least it has been for my machine.)

It'll be ready. They have DX10, spellweaving, sieges, crafting, city building, raids, ppoulated mid-level dungeons, pvp levels, pvp rewards, merc system, working chat, working guild controls, polish, performance, thousands of unique items, half the feats of every class and much more ready to go. They just don't have it in beta to keep it fresh for the few hundred testers.

At least that's what the forums tell me.

yikes. Standby for flop. I was pretty bemused when i loaded it up. Felt like i was playing meridian 59 or something:/

Heh... For an open beta this is a disaster to be honest. Anyone playing this for the first time is basically just going 'meh' as lvl's 1 - 13 are nothing more then whack-a-mole button mashing with horrible performance.

No advanced client, no crafting, no etc..

Unless there's some drastic 3 month newer sekret hidden dev client that will be out at release, avoid this baby for a few months.

It doesn't reek of the Vanguard fail-ness, not at all. It does reek of 'lets hide behind our NDA cause the game is in a very crappy public state right now, 9 days from release'.

They said the open beta client isn't the newest client. If the Secret Miracle Build myth becomes reality, we'll all have to re-evaluate our Vanguard-induced skepticisms.

What will be interesting to see is which one fails harder, AoC or Warhammer.
