Just classic it's not going to be fun until you play for X amount of time talk. Thought we were past that stage. P.S. Puppet doesn't work. It's either broken or unimplemented.

+3 Internets | Interesting opinions. I find melee in Conan pretty tedious and irritating. Maybe because I really seem unable to grasp how it works. I just don't find the left/right/center click to swing thing very fun I guess. |

+1 Internets | Bear Shaman is the heaviest armored healer with Medium armor. I have a feeling PoMs will have significantly higher survivability for PvP though, since they can stay behind the front lines and have several CC abilities (as well as a few divine shields later on). |

+1 Internets | Shielding/blocking is still young and unexplored. Intuitively, I assume it will have two uses: 1. PvE Tanking, you can learn patterns and adapt. Even if it's not viable for regular attacks you can "triple shield right" to avoid Earpunch, just like you would shield block to avoid Shear in WoW. Might be useful for normal attacks too though, if some boss has a predictable hit pattern or just really slow animations. 2. For PvP, I expect it to mostly be a matter of weighting shields towards where you know a majority of his combos are. If barbarians turn out to have 4 good combos hitting right, 2 good combos hitting up, and 1 good combo hitting left, you probably want to shift 1 shield up and 2 shields right, leaving left undefended. Might be used adaptively also if you can predict certain preferred combo patterns (Cheap Shot -> Kidney Shot stuff). |

+21 Internets | Yes they can easily hit your unshielded side. I normally leave 1 up on each side. However playing as a DT is open beta most of my good combos were Up and left. So down the line as you learn what class does what you can adjust accordingly. I seriously doubt though no matter how good you are moving shield would be a good ide in PVP. |

+5 Internets | yeah it's definitely not responsive enough to change on the fly. But like you said you could certainly stack against certain classes/builds... like dual wield barbarian is almost all middle attacks. Granted I haven't been able to test and see if it's actually worth doing that, taking damage on an unshielded side hurts BAD. |

| I have a feeling that there are going to be a huge percentage of Priests of Mitra when AoC goes live (AKA, Beta Stage 3). This class is just too darn good. It's like a WoW Holy Priest that can actually kill shit. The main thing that worries me is that they are 100% guaranteed to get nerfed shortly after "live" (or "adjusted" in beta). In the later half of levels, the HoTs start healing so damn good, it's more HPS than most melee can put out in DPS while wailing on the Priest (the Closed Beta forums are full of much whining to this effect). I got my PoM to 25 before "ClosedBeta1" server started lagging bad a couple of nights ago and will almost certainly play this class at release. Since then, I've tried quite a few other classes on "ClosedBeta3" (which has a nice sub-100ms ping), but I think the PoM will still be great fun in PvE and PvP even after they get the nerf they need. Just as an aside, for those of you still curious about the game in general, no it's not anywhere even in the same league as WoW, for example, as regards content, depth, quests, class design, class balance, world size, etc. But for many of us who have been playing WoW nearly every day for four years, it's a great change of pace. And yes, it's *FUN*! |
