No one stopping you, I am sure he might still be spamming something anti VG somewhere.

Oh and I pre-ordered today at Gamestop. Guy at the desk said from what they have heard they will be handing out the pre-ordered rewards when they hand out the game. Said they have had a lot of people doing pre-order to get the bonus then canceling on them, and that might have something to do with it.

Howard and Lovecrafts worlds actually share more in common than that of Tolkein to be honest. Howard also put a lot of Cthulhu-esque elements into his stories.

I always saw Hyboria as being an alternate reality of Earth's ancient past, being that it resembles Earth a great deal and actually has stories of modern men mixing with that of Hyboria, like in People of the Dark or The Cairn on the Headland. If you look at it as an early history of a dark earth filled with twisted magic, then you can see that same world evolving into the alternate reality that Lovecraft wrote about.

Heres a clue doofus. Just because people like Furor can use the word 'fuck' three times in a sentence, it doesn't mean they don't enjoy good writing and haven't got an intellect. Furor would use the word 'fuck' in sentences that were striking and thought provoking in their prose.

You on the other hand use it like a 12 year old trying to act tough in the playground.

'You're wrong, suck my cock'.

'Fuck you, the game rawks'

'Fucking game is fucking fucked up beyond all fucking worth the fucking fuck fuck'.

Using the manner without any substance just makes someone sound like a retard. As an aside, I was in the Forces for 9 years and saw plenty of action at the front; I can cuss with the best of them. Damn I miss the days when someone could use the word 'fuck' in a sentence on this forum and actually have something to say mixed up with it.

Absolute classics.

Uhuh, even in his Conan tales - Tower of the Elephant, for example. Real great writing in his Bran Mak Moran; a shame he didn't do more. Anyone who hasn't read that really should. Its about a Pict in Roman Britan with 'Cthulu-esque elements.

While I agree wholeheartedly with the sentiment of your post there's no need for such flagrant examples of Furor cock-polishing.

I bet half the people on the board now have never even seen furor post so there must be some other explanation for how dumb they act.

If FoH only had a book related forum they would have a perfect place to discuss book related topics and leave this thread to the folks with the beta infoz.
Oh wait! http://www.fohguild.org/forums/millies-book-house/ there it is!
Now we need some more l33t beta infoz!

Bilbo the Barbarian is a book just waiting to be written.

You're right; I apologize for going off track.

One point I was trying to make was that Conan was violent, brutal and full of sex and mature horror. I'm suggesting we should expect that from the game, which is initially born out from its mature rating. I'd be surprised if we don't see this side developed in the game, particularly with Funcom.

No but you argue semantics of who wrote the 1st fantasy novel then yes. Does the thread really need a hundred pages of people arguing over who is better then Howard?

And Flight must be on the wrong forum, use of the word fuck is common here. I wasn't doing it for writing purposes, I was doing it to exaggerate my point. So stop derailing the thread Jayra... I mean Flight. Fuck!

Howard did that on purpose. First, he knew it would take considerable time and thought to create a world with it's own history. He contemplated creating his own universe for Kull and Conan, but felt by drawing on our own history, culture and world he could make a much more believable backdrop for his stories without the timesink of creating an original world.

Not a book fag (RIP Arthur C. Clarke!!!!)
