No reason to. Maybe its a problem with quad core processors, maybe your video card. Who knows.. but lets be honest, if the game runs at least decent on peoples computer, but somehow doenst run at all on yours... its PROBABLY your computers problem just as much as its conans.

Again, whether you care enough to break away from your wow and actually research into the reason your computer is running poorly.. is your own decision. And please, just because youc omputer will run wow doesnt mean its running at optimal settings.

Again, the fact that my buddies computer(he has a new one on order for AoC) will run aoc on low settings with okay performance tells me that the game may have issues(obviously TERRIBLE memory leaks) but its not as bad as some people are claiming.

Oh.. btw.. defrag your hard drive

I was talking about things they scrapped or removed but told people how awesome it is in the next interview. You cannot say how action and realtime your combat is because caster need to aim their cone based spells and rangers either aim 1st person view with crosshair or 3rd person view with conebased aiming if both is "lock it 'n rock" it everquest style and cone spells are rare.

Errrr? I dont think I ever saw a MMO that comes close to AoC. The detail in their maps and the overall graphics is just stunning. Spellborn still has the best world design, but the gfx quality of AoC is awesome. But I skipped Everquest 2 (got errors so I couldnt even play beta) and Vanguard doesnt even come close, lol.

If I could get this game to actually work it would definitely be fun... I want a new MMO, I'm not playing anything right now.

Yeah that's pretty damn bad. Has to be a compatibility issue with the card and the game or something because it *should* at least be able to run decently on low settings.

Blerg, that sucks, hope you get that sorted out balouch.

My only suggestion is to make sure you have ample HD space free. I let my HD get full once and all my games' performances went into the shitter bigtime.

Well windows throws errors and warnings if your HD is full, so you usually notice. Compatibility issue is probably where it's at, along with bad drivers, not necessarily outdated, just a bad combo.

Anyway I do see a lot of people saying the game doesn't even run, or crash every 5-10mins, which is pretty worrying 2weeks before launch. I haven't had any issues myself, hell the game doesn't even stutter much after I play a few hours(well I guess play isn't the term, I mean when I went afk and left it running while I was matching a movie).

Either way I just got GTAIV, so fuck conan for now, I'll come back in a few days see the patch notes, they seem to be patching quite a lot of class changes lately.

Lol this is promising... first reply on AOC boards (I linked that video there and I mentioned I run games like Everyquest 2, to Vanguard to Half Life 2 to Crysis, Counterstrike and COD4 without issue):

Go buy a new graphics card and everything will be alright, none of the games you mentioned are close to Age of Conan. The closest thing was crysis.. And hell i could play crysis with low setting at a stable 30fps with a shitty 7600gts

Inter Core 2 DUO e6750 @ 2,67ghz.

im running around with 40-50fps in Tortage.

You can also get fps drops due to fraps. But overall a new graphics card would only do you good.

Balouch, seriously, your mileage isn't the norm for the majority of people playing this game. Take 2 seconds and think to yourself that "Hey, maybe my shit don't work with AoC"

The onus should not be on the user to create an environment where the game decides to run. It doesn't fucking matter if I don't have a cutting edge $800 video card, the character creation load screen should not take that long on the LOWEST POSSIBLE GAME SETTINGS.
