| Yeah check your emails carefully - all tech beta testers will be invited into closed (no level cap) beta tomorrow, May 2nd. They are going to run a stress test on 3 of the PVE beta servers with all the new tech testers + current closed beta testers. I dunno if tech beta testers have to put in a new key or whatever, but the closed beta client is not the same as the open beta client so if you were ever a tech tester be sure to start downloading the closed/general beta client now, so you can login and play without any limits starting tomorrow. Roll on the PVP server (closedbeta-pvp) if you can, a few of us have mid 20-40 level toons on there and would like to have more ppl to pvp with. |

| I also received an invite to closed beta. I noticed FunCom has me two separate login names/passwords - one for open and one for the Tech Test/closed beta which I signed up for (and never bothered playing) three months ago. If open and closed betas have different clients, I'm curious how this is going to work out starting tomorrow as regards patching, etc. In any event, it's nice not to be limited to level 13 after tomorrow. If closed beta works out OK tomorrow, I'll PM those of you looking for others to join up on the PvP server. I'm definitely playing a Priest of Mitra, but won't heal anybody that can't spell "you" or "are" or is under 30 IRL. Hahaha! |

| Registered User | I'll definitely be checking it out, though I'll admit I haven't followed the game all that closely. I too got the tech beta invite and didn't do anything with it, since I didn't have the free space at the time, or the will to download the gigantic client. |

+1 Internets | Pretty impressed so far (open beta 3 just went down, so I figured I'd post some thoughts). the combat system is pretty damn fun, at least so far. I've played an assassin to level 8, and it's pretty awesome. Combat is a little more attentive, which I like. Graphics-wise, looks pretty good. runs pretty well on my medium-end comp. only issue is some hitching, but it seems to go away after you've been through the area a few times. obviously i can't comment on any kind of in-depth mechanics, but the superficial impression so far has been good. |

| So the fileplanet client does not work for the stress tech account? I made my friend uninstall his stress test client to install the fileplanet one so he can play the open beta but is limited to level 13. Does he need to re-install the old client from the Funcom page to be able to play without restrictions? |

| First impressions (30 minutes) are that FunCom really has their shit together. - Patch server is zipping along at 500KB/s+ - Graphics are wondrous. The water effect is very well done, you can swim and control your character "naturally" (like we're all used to in WoW, of course), the under-water colors, etc. are just perfection. - Controls are great. Camera, movement, etc. all work like WoW (AKA, perfection again). - Bliss! Spell-casting is just awesome. No channeling (at least, by level 4), no interrupts (but you can't move), and a really neat trick is that just spamming your "Smite" (or whatever nuke you have) button will auto-cast at the nearest creature, so you can get near some mob camp and just hit your nuke button while farming, XP'ing etc. and don't even have to target the mobs. Spell hot-keys also have "in range" shading (like WoW again). - Voiceovers seem professional and immersive Off to Tortage... |
