Pretty sure Forgotten Realms or Dragonlance would make an awesome MMO setting.

Or A Sword of Ice and Fire...I can dream.

Better hope Vigil Games is up to the task then since that's who has the 40k MMO license.

A Song of Ice and Fire?

There is no way to make an MMO from those books. And even if there was, no one would do it justice. Please god no.

Although a mini-game with the goal to fuck Cersei or join Dany in a threesome would be sweet

You mean a generic fantasy world?

Darkfall aka Horizonsbane

DDO? MMO of the year!

LOTR? MMO of the year!

What will be the next shitty game of narrow scope and crappy gameplay to win the coveted crown?

Quick! Name all of the games post EQ that released with both world PVP and more than one working high end scripted raid.

LOTR was pretty successful. Just because it isn't your favorite game doesn't mean it isn't good.

Dude, lotro is a downs MMO at best. None of it really stands out as being good.

LOTRO is second to WOW in NA subscription numbers right now. Again, just because you don't personally like something doesn't mean that it's not good. Hell, I don't enjoy it. But, they released a quality product at launch that showed a lot of polish. At this point, there's only two MMO's that have done that. They both hold 1st and 2nd place for sub numbers.

This is actually something I worry about whenever a new MMO is announced. I really fear a great IP being butchered by a shitty MMO. As is the case with movies, if a shitty one is released based on something, then you're almost certainly never going to get a good one released. Ever.

We've already have the great Star Wars universe ruined for MMOs, and there is a good chance the Conan and Warhammer universes will be too.

Yeah but you can always just take one of those IP's and call it something else. *cough* Warcraft *cough*

Dragonlance or Forgotten Realms MMO that uses books as content updates. Meaning that you purchased the game, and they released playable versions of the books as play through content, with gear and skills earned transferring to the main play.

Kind of confused, you mean a mmo where the patches take place further in a timeline? Otherwise sounds like guildwars.

OP basing the majority of his release dates on Amazon.com listings due to no official dates existing, makes me cry.
