EQ1 AA changes - Page 5

P.S., I blame this board for the infestation of plat spammers that have attacked EQ as of late. We never had them until you guys came back to FV as a force and thought it was the cool thing to do to buy 10 million plat per person.

I sold my first account for something like 1800 and the person never earned a single AA or got a single new piece of gear. The second account I sold for 500 was the same deal. The person never did anything with it.

Holy shit. I played this game back in 1999 and they still have my character on there.

I think that's it. Though I didn't last log in in 2005 more like 1999. I was like level 15 after the game was out 1 week, which was spring break I think. I remember showing my friend EQ later that year after I quit before the Rams superbowl.

Really want to start up again, but there's no way I could talk my gf into playing with me, which means I'm stuck with WoW. Yay cartoony!

Yeah there is so much I miss about EQ...but going back is just not an option.

Unless you are mentally or socially handicapped, going back to EQ is quite easy.

I wanted to describe an easy path for leveling and guild progression, but if you need that info, you will fail regardless.

EQ has done a lot to improve the game for new players, and has become much easier in general, so saying its impossible to catch up is just displaying your lack of knowledge.

Spending 30 minutes or more recovering from a wipe vs roughly one tenth that in WoW is soul-crushing amounts of suck. The amount of time spent meditating/buffing in EQ is fucking horrible and completely unnecessary. They finally put an out-of-combat mechanic into the game, they should take far more advantage of it.

Face it, we only put up with EQ's downtime because it was the only game out there.

I tried to go back, but the downtime and boredom of playing EQ1 is painful when you know there are better and more fun games out there.

Well I def displayed my lack of knowlege for EQ yesterday so I don't disagree with you but I meant there is not going back because our lives have changed I can no longer sit for 12 hour sessions raiding and camping etc etc.

That game was ass in so many regards. Everyone knows what EQ could/should have been, but they just didn't give enough of a fuck to do anything with it, for whatever reason. I feel it my civic duty to not encourage that kind of behavior and never subscribe to it again.

The thread on the official EQ forums about this is full of bitter veterans getting all grumpy about how back in the day they had to work hard for their AAs.

After 6 years i enjoyed it. Few things annoyed me, but its like that in every game. Over all, for me, it was great. I didnt start until Velious though, but i killed everything in the game up until the Shade King (whoever made that fight needs to be bitchslapped though).
