This thread is going to be pages upon pages of bitter honor grinders who think everyone should suffer the same shit they did.

I've done it on my paladin, i'm doing it on my warrior and im going to have to do it on my mage. the fact remains that it takes too long.

I agree with you on the principle of alts, mostly because some people level up their class to 70 and then realize that they can't make a viable arena team with that class, and instead we could really use a XXXX. Then they're fucked for the next 2 months while they level up and regear up. That's kinda bullshit, but I don't think the honor grind is outta whack at all for regular 1 toon kinda people.

It's a whole lotta reward for a lot of effort in solo, small time period chunks. It needs to be balanced with something, and time is what they balanced it with. Can't get fucking epics doing anything else alone or standing around guarding the farm.

Yeah Heroics on my server are pretty impossible to PuG (though coincidentally it is child's play on mal'ganis) mostly due to the idiocy of tanks. Typically I will get a group of 4 friends then be forced to find a pugger tank and he can barely hold aggro on one mob at a time, usually meaning I have to put on pvp gear to live through the 1-2 beating on me. I have gotten a whopping 16 badges in 7 months of being 70 on my alt. I'd much prefer to get a pvp cloak by pvping.

Last Sunday during AV weekend I got 20k honor in a day. Yeah, I played more than 2.5 hours, it was like 10 hours.. was averaging 2k honor an hour, plus 2 AV dailys back to back during AV weekend. It was enough to get 2 S1 weapons in a day coupled with my previous piddling honor I got while levelling up.

If I could farm PvE solo for 10 hours and get 2 92 dps weapons that would be swell also.

While I agree with you (Taantric/Saban), at least in part, coming here looking for support probably wasn't the best of ideas.

Honor was bearable when it was 1500-2000 an hour on my BG, but it's now down to about 600-700 and there's simply no fucking way I'd consider wasting my time on that bad a grind. Fortunately I care nothing for pvp and think it's become a blight on the game, so the easy solution was to switch to a class that gets zero benefit* from doing pvp in the first place.

*-Well, almost. I'd certainly buy arena points for S3 mace and shield wall if I could, but settling for just the S2 shield and never looking at pvp again will have to do.

You guys forgot the forth option TRADESKILLS!...... lol.

Seriously the prices are ok where they are, and will probably be going down next season too. 100 days to get the set for playing 2.5 hours a day(that's like super casual hours, average player I think does at least 4 hours a day) seems fine to me, especially when you don't even need attunement, just hit 70 and walk into any bg, only problem is what side you're fighting on these days.

IMO Blizzard has miscalculated the effort required and the hours available to play for their core audience.
I played for an hour and a half last night (after my wife went to bed) and made ~3500 honor in pugs, and amazingly I still managed to get up for work this morning.

If a few nights of casual play (and yes, 1.5 hours in a night is casual to most MMO gamers) to get a very nice piece of gear is too long for you, you may not be cut out for MMO's.

Stop right there.

Factor in 2.5-4 hour AV Queues. For giggles, toss in a server that NEVER FUCKING GROUPS EVER.

Now recalculate and continue.

I guess it's battlegroup dependent. My queues were never more than 2-3 minutes with 70+ someodd AVs going at once.

Ours were about 40 minutes, 50-50 shot between rolling a PuG and getting rolled by a premade.

Looking at the replies in this thread it occurs to me that most of you have a LOT more hours to play this game than I do. Which leads me to the conclusion that no matter how large or small the grind is, you guys will always get the reward before me or any other person who does not play that much. Now add on top of that the fact Blizzard does keep adding new content and better items. Basically I will never truly catch up to any of the hardcore people.

So why the vicious replies? How does it affect your game if casuals like me get the lower tier rewards quicker?

AV queues on my battlegroup are over 2 hours easily now.
Honor is not an easy thing to grind these days (if you don't do premades exclusively, or in my case these days, ever).

Bullshit, it's not about how long it takes to do. Its the fact that it is the last bastion of actual effort left in the game and you cock-holsters will not allow that to stand when every goddamnned thing else is just handed out for practically nill.

So sure, why not this too?

Hopefully arenas will be able to be played against skill-setting-controlled bots soon too, because fuck.. winning that shit is also just too goddamned hard against other players who, you know, attack you back. Pve too, fuck months to get Illidan down. We need single player goddamned quests where you can ass-fuck him Oz style in the shower at level 10 so that it's not so "frustrating" for new players to catch end game raiders. And hey, let's nerf skill too because it's just too frustrating for fucking retarded people to get Gladiator titles appended to their fucking helmets and, quite honestly, that's just not fair either.

I'm not saying in any way the current system isn't flawed, but come the fuck on.. Is it really necessary to devalue EVERY aspect of character progression in WoW more than it already has been done? The answer to EVERY fucking issue with WoW is not "make it easier". It's the most irritating aspect of the game.

You (and even me at times) should consider yourself lucky you get them at all. If this were < insert some 1st generation game or its clone > then you would be SOL and running around in greens/blues or their equivalent forever.

100 days is 3.5 months at super casual play. I can't even think this thread is serious any more. Full epics in 3.5 months at causal play is why they are called welfare epics in the first place.

I saw this guy's post on the general forums. He's got 0/75 alchemy and like 30/75 herbalism. He basically set himself up for failure at 70.
