And it certainly won't take 4 months. Between daily heroic badge rewards & instance drops, daily pvp (with daily quest), and arena points it's incredibly easy to be competitive in a month or two.

This man is insane. The roadblock he is refering to is completely made up. Do some fucking 5 man quests, do NORMAL instances, get exalted with some reps, IT IS INSANELY EASY TO GET GEAR.

Is this your first MMO? Hell, even at level 60 in WoW it was 100x harder to gear up. I wore a level 40 blue into MC. Gear is insane right now so if this is too hard for you then maybe you should roleplay a gigantic faggot.

200 per week times 16weeks = 3200 points. a couple of pieces of gear is hardly a years worth of gear progression.

First of all without gear at Level 70 you are nothing and it is even more painful when you are Resto spec. The difference between a new level 70 and a geared level 70 is huge, gigantic, very large, immense etc etc. Hell I can't even finsh my remaining quests because I am so gimped. Do you realize that you're a fucking moron?

You make some FRIENDS, you finish your quests. You run some dungeons, get some passable fucking gear and all of this becomes easier.

You and your FRIENDS make an arena team, hold a 1500 5 man team and make 350 points a week. Every piece of gear you get via the arena cuts a week off your gear up time via honor alone.

I think you fail to fucking realize that right now, the S3 shit is quite possibly comparable to the BEST SHIT IN THE GAME. This isn't fucking Karazhan crap we're talking about here, this is BT/Hyjal level gear, that you're being handed at the rate of 1 piece a week if you actually put forth some fucking effort. That's insane? You're a dumbshit.

Looking at it in hours or days played in the grand scheme makes it seem small but the overwhelming problem is just how god awful boring it is. I'm forced to run AB for my honor now since AV yields 0, eots is almost always a slow loss, and wsg is turtlefest and AB is no fun for undergeared players. You have a chance in eye because you can always retreat fairly easily, in av you can gank people, and in warsong people are more interested in killing the flag carrier. But in AB, it is almost always arena style around the flag where ~2-5 people square up against 2-5 other people with no hope of retreating for most classes. My 8k hp 100 resil ass gets raped if someone turns to me.

The time itself is not so horrible as the fact that it is a grind to begin with. Lessening the total honor won't make it any more fun, it would just make it boring for less time. The key is making it not boring. Add a dozen or 2 new bg's. Make them fast. Remove the mother fucking deserter debuff already.

And as far as likening this to r14 system .. suck my dick. 10 weeks at rank 13. TEN WEEKS. That's not even including the rest of the 8 months I spent going 1-13.

Are you living on social welfare? How many hours do you think the average gamer person has per week to do this shit?

IMO Blizzard has miscalculated the effort required and the hours available to play for their core audience.

Leap frogging for quest green and blues to ilvl 146 purples is a years worth of progression.

I came back and leveled from 60-70 when S2 was released. I'm in almost full S3 now.

The ability to catch up to the curve is about 1000x better than it was in pre-tbc.

i don't know about that original poster but in ~2hrs i am usually getting close to 3.5k honor-depending on wins and losses.

I Don't know if i have been lucky but the LONGEST i have had to wait for ANY battleground to join in the past 3 weeks has been sub 5 minutes...and that was an AV where i chose the battlefield so i we could all(in my group) get into the same AV.

every battleground is different- for instance - i suck at warsong gulch...win 1 outta every 5 matches

my wife wins 4 outta 5 matches (if we are separate-together its about 50-50 on wins losses)

in eots my wife-if alone- has never lost one she has been in (albiet limited playtime she has been doing pvp for all of a week)

I on the other hand am on a winning street, won the last 2 i was in,,prior to that 15 losses in a row.

AB -win more than lose...for both of us. my guildmates however lose more than win...

AV i'm winning more than losing lately

Thanks for describing how easy it is to freshly hit 70 and get geared up with a minimum of skill and effort, Taantric. I really believe Blizzard has hit it on the head. Now if only they'd make the PVP cloaks honor-buyable, I'd be happy. I fucking HATE grinding badges.
