Yes, but anybody who has ever done a game beta (i.e., 99% of the readers of this forum) knows this is a steaming pile of bullshit. There is never, ever a "miracle build". It's a rule.

Hell, Funcom even told people there was a miracle build for AO, a couple of months before that launched. I cannot believe people are falling for it again.

It is funny isn't it. You should see the beta boards! Most are gobbling it up. I will be happy to eat my words but I seriously don't see a patch fixing the game unless they have a complete new game. This feels so like Vanguard its not even funny.

It seems like no matter how many times people hear it from here, they will deep throat any excuse for the game. Miracle build? Shit isn't in yet, but it IS in the miracle build? Another mysterious delay? Its getting embarassing. I want this not to fail but right now, despite this thread's BS title, I can't help but be afraid for launch. No doubt on a fansite or official forum this is "doom and gloom."

I followed the game a bit in the beginning, but got preoccupied with other things and just forgot about it. For all I know, the game is either totally fucked, or its the best thing since sliced bread. But I still have to find it amazing that many of the posts I see here and on the official forums, all sound like Funcom only have 8 weeks left to go with the delay.

May 20th is a long way off. Not that you could get any of the morons that DO want it to fail to understand that simple fact.

Why would someone want it to fail? Looking at it and thinking it is going to fail isn't the same as wanting it to. I would love it if people had a hard choice between WoW, WAR and AoC, sadly though, I just don't think its likely.

None of us want it to fail. Conan is a great IP for an MMO. A lot of us just happen to see a lot of parallels with Vanguard. (unfinished game, power-hungry graphics engine, company promising the moon, crazy obsessive fanboys, etc) If the game comes out and turns out to be great, no one will be happier than me. I'd love to play an MMO, but I don't like EQ2, loathe WoW and EVE's a bit too involved for me.

Delays if warranted are good. I'm happy. I trust Kody's opinions of the game. I'm looking forward to playing it when it's done and hopefully they do a good job.

I for one am not getting my panties in a twist because of another 2 months without playing.

I almost always hate drawing analogies but the current MMO industry reminds me so well of the dot com boom back a few years ago. EVERYONE threw money into the most shady businesses only to lose it all. The current companies have got to realize that to make money you have to have a quality product.

Downloading the beta atm, will see how it is later tonight, i live in hope for a game that feels new and brings back the nostalga i felt when i first played everquest, even felt it when i first played DAoC!

Please god let WAR and Conan bring mmo goodness to my life that vangaurd/eq2/everyotherpeiceofshitinbetween failed to bring.

make sure to go into video settings, debug, and turn OFF Force Low Detail Shaders (its in there twice), and in Advanced turn OFF Strip highest MIP levels. The graphics look a lot better once you do this, although unless you have at least a 8800GT your FPS will drop dramatically.

The game looks 2-3x better once you turn these options off, I suspect many of the people who complain about the graphics haven't done it (no matter how you config your basic video settings it turns these off by default at the moment).

btw for some real fun just start wall jump anywhere, you can pretty much get to anywhere you want with it. You can wall jump to the end of quests, get away from mobs, etc, etc (just start hopping [spacebar] anywhere you can't run and you'll pretty much start flying up).

I got in WAR, so it is only fair I get into AoC so I can compare the two.
