I think the point in making gold as abundant as it is now, is to diffuse the attractiveness of the gold farming services. The sole reason they exist is to provide you with what you cannot get on your own in a reasonable time. The most obvious solution is to make it so this equation no longer exists.

If little Timmyfucktard_01 can make 1000 gold in a week, why is he going to pay 30-50 bucks to have someone else do it for him ? It's when little Timmy had to spend 4-6 WEEKS to earn that, that these gold farming operations came into prominance.

What's a Daily? A Daily is a quest thats available for you to complete once a day. There are numerous Daily quests for you to complete, and all of them give you something of token value. Some reward you with golds, reputation, honor, badges or potential rare loot.

What does a Daily accomplish? It gets people to play more often, more frequently.

I could have done any of this shit before Dailies came along. I could have spent hours grinding mobs for rep, or running heroics to no end to pick up badges, or farming mobs for gold/loot. I even PVP now, just to complete the Daily PVP quest and I loathe PVPing. What's the difference now with Dailies? Now I feel like I HAVE to log in and do these things, or else I'm letting them go to waste. It's something to complete, now I have a tangible goal with a tangible reward. Even if that reward is the same thing I could have gotten just grinding.

Dailies is simply the most incredible thing to go in, maybe ever. It tricks people into playing more and Blizzard knows this. From here on out, we're only going to see more of it in the future, more dailies are already announced for Sunwell.

The question is, will other MMOs recognize this and include it in their games, or will this strictly be a Blizzard thing? Is this good or bad?
Sounds like Blizzard has you (and everyone else) right where they want you.

Seriously though, I just started WoW 2 weeks ago and am only level 26 atm, are dailies for high level only?

I hate dailys. I think they are a great idea, I just hate them. Makes me feel like I'm wasting a day. I havn't done a daily in a month and I still have 16k rep for my Netherdrake. It might have to do with the fact that playing an elemental shaman is kind of boring when you grind. bolt bolt bolt bolt bolt bolt bolt bolt bolt

You can do the BG daily if it happens to be one that has a level bracket for you, but yeah.. the rest are all in Outlands.

They are for level 70's only. Give's you gold as a reward. So instead of mindlessly grinding the same mobs for gold and stuff to sell, you mindlessly grind collection and kill quests.

Sorry for the derail here, but:

How do 2 pally's work together in PvP at high level? I play a 26 pally and she (my wife) plays a shadowpriest atm but is considering switching to Pally (Heal spec).

Why would you quote something when your post has absolutely nothing to do with the quoted material? /boggle

Because my forum skills are not up to par with yours and I accidentally hit quote instead of reply? How is your question even worth posting? Would it make you feel better if I edited it? Douche.

I'm going to kill myself if I do Simon one more fucking time, and I've only been doing it for a month.

UO already had incentives for logging on daily. Power hour was one, giving your skills a boost in gain rate for the first hour you log on, and then years later with their GGS (Guaranteed Gain System), which states that you will automatically gain a skill point after a certain period of drought.

Funny, I dont mind doing simon but I cant wrangle any more fucking aether rays. The only thing that can - and does - make this douche daily worse is when some dumbass attacks me when I'm doing it. As if the quest wasnt painful enough.

Simon would be ok if it was like real simon where it's the same pattern each time with a new element. Basically it's too hard not to cheat at it so fuck it, it's a dumb quest.

If I could click them as fast as I wanted it wouldn't be so bad. As it stands, repeated notes are painful.
