I'm fairly certain this has been underway for quite sometime now. I remember reading that FOX purchased the rights(or multiverse) a few months or even a year ago.

While I'm a huge Firefly fan, I'm pretty skeptical about all of this.

afaik that company is one of those who has an active MMORPG client that you can cut/copy/paste and code alot of moving parts into. All they have to do is hash out the nuances of the game, and take care of any special scripting and bam - MMO built.

After re-reading the release, this sounds about right. In which case, the game is DOA.

I wouldn't count something as dead in the water just because it uses an "MMO building solution."

Stargate Worlds uses one and it's coming along fine; it looks no different from any other up-and-coming MMO graphically, and the technical side in terms of server infrastructure actually sounds more rock-solid than some of the big players.

Was actually announced over a year ago.
