Holic Beta Download on the FilePlanet Free MMO Club

So another episode of korean mmo theatre.
Classes include: Warrior,Priest, Monk, rogue, mage.

Ok first off the good:

-WASD controls
-Cool animations(you get knockback attacks which are fun)
-You can jump
-EQ2 like heroic group attacks
-Mounts are on par with WoW as far as outlandishness(if that a word)
-Enough quests to get you to 15-20ish quickly(haven't made it past that)
-You can change your job class its basicaly like FF where you have a subclass but its ones of the main classes you can pick from the start. It adds variety from 15+

The Bad:
-WASD controls feel like shit.
-Static leveling skills(you level up and you auto get new skills, no improving them no nothing)
-Everything is in a valley so freedom of movement is limited.
-Equipment is lame at the start, you can use a weapon and pants to start then at 15 you can finally equip a chest item.
-You get stuck on world stuff very easily(fences rocks etc)
-Camera controls like ass

Its so cookie cutter its painful...fuck this game, maybe I am just burned out on MMO's but really no redeeming qualities. I normaly don't post the ones I don't like this much but its out on FP so I figure some may be so inclined.

Overall boring, lame, and nothing to see here.

There is a ton of new gear you can use before level 15, like lvl 5, 9 for example have new tiers of gear. Did you ever get your subclass? That's the thing that seemed interesting me me.

Yeah but not having a wide varity of stuff to use starting from level 1 just seems lazy.

Why not? It isn't like the first page of the forums is flooded with new topics all the time.

It's free, it might amuse someone for a moment or two and hell, sometimes you can learn a bit about games in general by looking at what makes something sucky actually suck.

Hatorade has already been around the block on the whole "should I post new shitty rang rang MMOs or not?" thing and a number of people seem to feel the answer is "go for it".

If they were FFXI-like "heroic" group attacks (AKA Renkei or Skillchains), then it might be interesting. The EQ2 abortion of the FFXI system is terrible though.

I have no problem with it, but if it sucks why bother subjecting other people to suckage? It just seems like an exercise in futility.

It seemed more like FFXI's system to me where you have to plan a long order of certain skills, not some random junk like EQ2.

I disagree. I think that's one of the biggest problems with newer games. At level 1 you shouldn't be able to do anything besides wear basic crap armor and have a basic crap attack.

That's what was so frustrating about Vanguard and other games I've beta'd was by level 4 you have 20 different abilities, 5 racial traits and 5 twitch attacks that fill up 3 hotbutton panels. By then you're already just watching cooldown timers instead of actually playing the game.

Still though this game is pretty bad, if you are gonna play go for monk they rip through shit.
