Anyone who still believes this after Smed's flat out denial is retarded.

Go look at any company in talks to be acquired ever -- there is standard lawyer speak -- a flat out denial isn't such speak.

Anyone who isn't skeptical about Smed's denail is even more retarded. See how easy that is? Gonna have to keep our eyes (those of us who don't see shades of pink that is) on this one.

Millions? Hundreds of thousands maybe. EQ has what? 100k or so? EQ2 maybe 200k? Maybe 100k shared amongst VG, SWG, MxO and PS. Some of those are probably dupes via Station Pass as well. So best case would be under half a mil with it likely being 250-300k unique subscribers across all of SOE.

In the workings of the gigantic mega-corp that is Sony Corporation Smed is pretty much a small fry. If something were going on it'd be at a level that's far above where he is.

I bet there are alot of people who would like to see Smed get the "let's have a meeting in the parking lot" talk.

If I were to look at things from a non gamer corporate investor view. It would probably kind of look like they went from a clear #1 in the industry a few years ago to a distant #2 and falling quickly from that point most likely in the next year or two if they haven't already. Now just may be the best time to sell.

lol I think it's funny that some Indian newspaper prints some unsubstantiated story with no names, but then people here think SOE is lying when they clear the record.

It's pretty obvious that for $300 mil the company was buying the rights to some games and the information was either mistranslated or misinterpreted.

And you think this why? Just because they are overseas doesn't mean they are retarded. Since Indias GDP per capita is lower that that of the states a 25k salary is highend and would possibly be comparable to a 75k salary in the states. In the end, for a company if it doesn't matter where the product is produced, it's a no brainer. It's why everything is made in China.

Do you work in the software industry? A company I used to work for outsourced a part of their code in Thailand. The code we got (when we got it in time...) was always some unmaintenable (sp?) buggy piece of shit. We had to spend more time correcting their shit than if we had actually did it. I don't say this is always the case, my experience doesn't even involve India but Thailand. But if you think that stuff like that coming from countries with a far lower level of education than US/Europe will be as good as what we can get here, you are delusional. Especially in the gaming industry.

Smed took steroids to get where he is and in time it will be proven.

You've clearly never dealt with overseas software developers. Yes, because they are from india pretty much does mean they're retarded.

Sounds like another recent flop of a game that went from one studio to another.

Bullshit. They are more dedicated, better educated, and actually give a shit about what they are doing. Maybe they are not that experienced yet. But they will get there.

And the simple fact of them being able to throw 100 fucking people on one job for the wage of 5 lazy ass web surfing american fags which dont give a shit about their job means you will never be able to compete.

Would have been a good move by Sony. Getting rid of SoE would put an end to expectations of growth that cannot be reached with their products anyways.

And you also clearly don't work in the industry. I've worked on 3 major projects with overseas developers. In each case we've ended up completely throwing away what they've given us and redoing it from scratch, in 1/3rd the time with 1/20th the manpower and it comes out clean, maintainable, and consistent. In each case the decision to outsource was made by incompetent MBA jerkoffs who don't understand why coder != coder.

Indians are dedicated, they are educated, and they are hard working. What they are not is creative, intelligent, and able to think outside the box. Their solutions are always right out of a book regardless of whether applying that book method makes sense. They don't correctly apply programming methodologies or organizational frameworks because they don't think big enough to get the whole project at once. In short, they are fucking retarded as software developers. There might be something else they are really good at, but I'd rather work alone than have 100 indians helping me.

I really did not realize that SOE was such a small entity. $150 million/year is a not much compared to Blizzard's $1.1 billion. Hell, $150 million is barely greater than A-Rod's salary with the Yankees.
