| You are not damn right | Ok i have a question involving fps in WoW. When I am in full screen mode, i get a pretty solid 70-90 FPS When i am in windowed mode, it drops to 15-20 FPS, with no alterations besides that. 8800GTS 2.4 ghz dual core 1600x1200 reso with all shit turned on (including vsync but not triple buffering) Whats the issue here?

| That's odd. I can run windowed mode fine on Vista. Using 169.17 drivers on an 8800GT.

+17 Internets | It doesn't happen with every config. The ones it does happen on though there doesn't seem to be any known solution. It's in the Nvidia bug documentation too. Also that might be because you have an 8800 GT. I don't know if it can happen on those, I do know it happens on the GTS/GTX. |

| I use WoW windowed mode like all the time, 32bit vista and an 8600gts on the laptop.... I normally pull around 30fps in crowded areas but tops out at 60 It has on occasion thought slowed way the fuck down and gone into the 15-20 range at random times but it's very rare. |

| So I've been a fan of VSync for a while now, but recently I download a UI compilation that seems to have the setting fucked up. It's always worked fine (no tearing) for the past 3 years or so, but now, whether or not I have it checked or unchecked, I get tearing. Is there any sort of master-command in some config or .wtf file that would override the ingame Option menu? It's really rather annoying. |

| I just built a Q6850 quad core system with two 8800GTs in SLI mode and WoW has a really bad framerate in parts of Shattrah. One particular location is at the flight master...if you pan the camera in such a way that you're looking at the floor but towards the outer rim of the city FPS will drop to around 18. It makes no sense since nothing is really there. I figured it was an Nvidia driver issue. Switching off SLI made no difference either. And this is on a Vista Ultimate 64-bit system. Interestingly enough, my other comp is an Athlon X2 6000+ with a Radeon x1950Pro and, performance-wise, there is barely any difference between the two (in WoW). Although the bad FPS drops aren't exhibited by the Radeon setup. |

| No, they can't. Not in the way those who are perpetuating yet another myth ("FRAME RATE IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT AND THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN 60 FPS AND 120 FPS IS PROFOUND") want us to believe. But there is no discernible difference when playing WoW. And most of you people who go OH I CAN TELL THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN 200 FPS AND 60 FPS are on monitors with 60Hz refresh rate, making your argument retarded and yet another case of placebo influencing opinion. |
