How many active raiders does your guild have? Do they all deserve a piece of loot (on average) from every boss you kill eventually? I think the answer is yes.

If your guild has 35 active raiders, you must kill each boss 18 times to get 1 loot (average) per member. How is taking four and a half months out of line? Or even make it too easy? Virtually no guild farms end bosses for four and a half months as is, we killed Kael 4 times, not even close to 18. Are you expected to kill bosses 20-30 times? and have members who see no loot from a drop table? People who say it would ruin raiding are dumbasses.

First point: Not all bosses drop items for every class/sepc, so your argument about needing to kill a boss that many times to get each member 1 item is stupid.

Second point: There is more then one boss in a zone, so the odds of getting a decent number of useful items goes up significantly, as does the number of people getting said loot.

Basing an entire argument about killing 1 boss for everyone to get loot is flawed.

Point 1: it is actually worse than his point was illustrating. Getting tons of loot for some class you don't have much of is horrible, as is getting little or no loot for classes that are more popular.

Point 2: The odds are the same, no? It can be calculated pretty easily. Just look at the drop rates and loot tables of SSC/TK/Whatever and figure out every class/spec's desired drops from the dungeon. Now look at how many of those you have in your raid.

I think it stands to reason that having bosses that people don't benefit from is the flawed part - which makes DKP systems or awareness of who is attending what to make rational loot decisions necessary.

On top of that, the reality of maybe only having 1 or 2 bosses out of a handful in a zone makes that zone *SUCK* for some people. Not sure what's worse, getting the 1 or 2 items and then having to progress or farm the zone over and over again or not getting the items and not doing the dungeon any more.

Tell me how you keep 40 players interested in a game when they've got nothing to look forward to till the next expansion down the line, which with Blizzards time table is always months away.
This is how it is now; redoing instances isn't interesting, it's filling the time up. Having been in a hardcore guild who was always waiting, nothing changes. Except now, instead of farming that instance continuously I could be pvping, leveling an alt etc, things that I was unable to do when I hardcore raided. I'd much prefer doing something in my off time then realizing tonight will be BWL AGAIN because Nefarian didn't drop his motherfucking lok'amir.

Creating more of a stable loot system doesn't mean you do the instance 3 times and you're done, it means it isn't on the raid schedule when the next instance rolls around.
