[EQ2] Guild Transfers from TEST to Live Server

Wooo - wooo - woooo

Shit I feel like the EQ2 police this week.

Anyways, its been confirmed the Devs have moved a whole guild off of test onto a live server (Unrest), for free. Why is this a big deal ?? SoE have always said strongly this would never happen. Test = double XP, plus the guild in question have been kitted out in the leetest possible gear by Dev friends over the years. They also had a GM in guild for a long time who helped them beat tons of content etc. They at least removed all their mythical stuff before transferring them.

Shit meet fan, fan meet shit.

And yet the players on Firiona Vie server (EQ1) think they'll ever actually be allowed to transfer/merge to a real server.

This mouthfoaming waaaaaaage would occur there as well

Woulda been nice to have this opportunity before I transferred 3 times to unpopulated severs, finally to Vox where I lost 80% of my items just for transferring.

Guess you gotta know the right person. Maybe they should use this as an opportunity, and open transfers from anywhere to anywhere. However, the smart money is on, "This was a mistake and has been corrected. The GM in question has been punished. Nothing to see here." Too much of a shit-storm otherwise.

Assuming it's true.

What surprises me the most out of this is they allowed them to transfer for free. It kind of reinforces the opinion that this was some kind of shady shit performed by one or two individuals in a position of power without the management's consent.

Well, same shit happened on EQ1 test server.

Rub a GM the "right" way and rules-schmules.

This reminds me of the times on Veeshan when I'd randomly see new players I've never seen before fully decked out in no drop gear randomly pop up on Veeshan with an FoH tag. It happened way before it was possible, and also many times not via the Legends server double name exploit.

After becoming friends with Saiphos, our lead GM, he would teleport me places I didn't want to travel to. It started with a GM event one time, and I wasn't going to make it, so he summoned me, but then I started to ask him off hours and he didn't give a shit. So yeah, it's true about rubbing a GM the right way.

I wonder how I missed these mysterious fully geared recruits. Then again, back then I did have my head stuffed in a heaping bowl of coke most of the day, so I guess anything is possible.

Or not.

Don't even question it. Goliath knows all about EQ. Just accept that and it makes reading the completely wrong and baseless shit he posts about EQ, and the people who played it, at least tolerable.

Off the top of my head, dark elf wizard starting with a T (Yes I know it wasn't Teclisen or Tudadar). I'll have to do some mental digging and I can remember his full name. It was late Velious. He was the one that told me about the few that had done it, and then later mentioned the legends exploit that everyone loved. Surely you remember getting players over geared with the legends trick? Not that I care, it never bothered me, it was just in reference to op.

If I am off here sorry, I know where I am posting ... but ...

Didn't basically the same thing happen in WoW with FoH moving to the PVP server from a PVE server which isn't/wasn't allowed?

And everyone screamed favoratism?

The good news is that you're still alive. The bad news is that that's the good news. Also, you have no legs.

I'm pretty sure that decision was reversed. Not that I care, at all, about transfer bullshit because I refuse to pay money to move my character from one database to another and even if I did I'm not going to start server hopping and destroy any relation to the community I might have.

Thats a bit different don't you agree?

The difference between PvE and PvP server in WoW is very small.

Difference between a test realm and a live is huge, 50% bonus experience for one.
