| Blood of the Spider first to wake Sleeper? MMORPG - MMOCrunch - World of Warcraft » Top 5 Most Memorable Events in MMORPG History #5 event, which is lifted from Kerafyrm - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia I remember doing this before July 28, 2001. In fact I remember talking to Lady D about the event at the Fan Fair in San Diego earlier that year. Last edited by Lelaniel; 12-06-2007 at 10:24 PM.. |

| The sleeper was first released early 2001 and i was a probie in my old guild da kor back then when they did it. though they might not have been first either. The first sleeper had no model so he was a giant human. |

| Fansy the Famous Bard. That kid changed the rules on the "No Rules" server and did it with style. The SWG mass bannings and protests. The guy who hacked Shadowbane and raised the ocean level to drown all the noobs on the starting island. The terrorist attack in Second Life. Last edited by Himeo; 12-06-2007 at 11:43 PM.. |

| I see the Sleeper as the biggest event in that list. The fact that lord british had to "toggle" on his invulnerability pales in comparison to the fact that the Sleeper was built into the game from the ground up to be unkillable. That and the fact that it took 180+ people 3+ hours to kill Kerafyrm makes it much more "epic" imo than some random dude getting lucky and using a single ability that killed lord british because he forgot to turn on his invulnerability. The fact that I was there in 2003 waiting in the serverwide channels that had been created with bated breath to find out if the 3 guilds would beat the Sleeper may have made that event even more so memorable, but I digress. And don't even get me started on Leeroy.

Anyone remember when all the warriors planned a protest? If I remember right most of them got the protest date wrong. Each server had its own stuff too. On Xegony there was a 3 guild alliance that was a Coirnav kill away from PoTime and must have failed Coirnav at least 30 times (no exaggeration). There were also 2 other guilds in time who had worked out a fairly decent rotation. Anyway, a group of us knew about an exploit that would cause any given zone to crash. It worked by having a rogue hand an npc an item then steal it back with another random item already on the cursor. At this point the zone would crumble and everyone would be dropped to character select. The alliance assembled one evening in the Plane of Water and after two hours of setup, made their 34th Coirnav attempt and by some miracle they had made it to the killable version. 50%, 40%, 30%, 25%...../who....60 people in zone. SHIT!! PULL THE TRIGGER NOW NOW NOW. YOU HAVE BEEN DISCONNECTED. Needless to say, several "utterly baseless" accusations were thrown around but nothing ever came of it. Oh, and of course no one believed that they almost killed the big bad fish. The exploit was nerfed soon after. Yes it was a fucked up thing to do. | |

| We bawlin boi! | I was leveling up my iksar monk in Oasis when Fansy was doing all that, the sad part of it is that those excerpts only captured such a tiny portion of the chaos. Dude literally logged on and would do it all day and all night, then do it again the next day for weeks till he got banned. He never got me though, killing crocs on the backside of the pillar kept me free of the Selos training =D. Man that server was fun though, we raped it so badly, but there is just no feeling like doing North Wing tov and getting trained constantly by the neuts/goods and still winning. I remember we had SKs set up at the entrance to kill off bard trainers who would come in with selos when we were doing our first Aary attempts, it was like two raids in one, and we still won. Instanced WoW pvp is such a giant disappointment compared to how fun that was. While you did have your Sam Deathwalkers, there was a pretty good respect there from the good pvpers. Oh, the fun I had with feign death and a no rules pvp server to grief the living fuck out of people who pissed me off. Train my group or try and kill the shit Im pulling for xp? Ok, ill fd train you, keep everything on my agro list, and wait till you're about to cr and stand up---I think I pulled about half of guk several times on one group doing that. Probably the most fun I ever had in Everquest. ![]()
