Gallenite and SOE

Gallenite leaving EQ2 - EQ2Flames Forum

EQ2: Scott Hartsman Leaving SOE | TenTonHammer

New Eq2 Producer - EQ2Flames Forum

Is this even close to true? If so that's a big blow to SOE.

edit added link to another post on EQ2 Flames that further supports the rumor.

I will concede that point. EQ2 is a big pile of *yawn* but Scott made it as good as it could be.

Wow. In my opinion, EQ2's late success is only because of Scott. Man, if I were SOE I'd offer that guy any amount of money in the world to stay. If I were any other company making MMOs, I'd offer him any amount of money in the world to join.

Does it say where he's going? I should probably ready the articles huh.

Anyway really how much more could he do for EQ2? Go work on another game and make it better dude.

Rumor mill is he's going to make a start up, but who knows. Will have to wait for a public denouncement/confirmation before any real infoz show up.

Hard to say since the rumor was started on some forums, until anything official comes out this should be taken with a grain of salt. Besides, even if he left EQ2 that doesn't exclude him from moving within SOE, heaven knows VG needs a bit of assistance and he has done miracles before. He could also be moving up the food chain (would be nice if he displaced Smed)

He's clearly an example of a developer who gives a shit.

I hate EQ2, so hopefully he goes somewhere worthwhile.

I hope he leaves MMO's altogether and starts up a Hooter's franchise.

What possibilities are you thinking of?

I think whatever he's doing, he'll be awesome at. and having "saved eq2" on his resume will land him virtually whatever job he wants.

If you think that would be impressive, lets think if he could actually turn VG around. He wouldn't just be a hot market item; people would literally snipe him on contract biddings.

He could be Chef Ramsey of the MMO world, make his own television show about 'turning MMO's around'.
