But seriously, even in WoW there were some levels where I just straight out EQ-style grinded through. Hillsbrad, the naga's there were my secret spot. Easy to kill, fast respawn, I'd just run circuits killing them, think I got 3-4 levels there. Ogres in Feralas, pirates in Tanaris. The only thing that was really sad was killing them 1000x and not getting any unique loot. One spot is as good as the next.

| And why cant a game support both types of gameplay ? No wait, WoW does but its for 'Kids' (what happened to the jerking off emote ?). EQ 2 does but it sux etc etc etc .. The distinction is retarded when it comes up for debate. People should absolutely be able to play the game in the style they prefer. Hating on people who don't is just .. well .. odd. |

| Thousands? No. Original EQ had quests in the dozens. And the ones worth doing could be counted on your fingers.

Unless you assholes are counting "quests" like tumpy tonics or bone chips or simple turn in shit like ruby's. Remember when Sol Temple was put in? People were flipping out over "quests" that actually GAVE worthwhile shit. edit: Sorry Neric, "faction" quests don't count. Last edited by Zarcath; 11-29-2007 at 07:44 AM..

+29 Internets | What was the shield that was like +12 Wis. Had to kill some random mob in High Hold. Great shield for low levels, if I remember correctly.

Monk sash and headband quests too. And of course the monk robe quest - that robe of which I forgot the name. The one that you spent hundreds of hours camping Raster of Guk for. Minotaurs... Moooooo.

| I'll give ups to Scott one thing, which is focusing on what other games do well and incorporating that into fixing the game he works on. People gripe that EQ2 has been "WoW-ified" but what's happened is that all of the things that add fun and subtract tedious from WoW have been largely incorporated into EQ2 over time, and that's a good thing. So at least he undertsands the fun part of gaming, but I fear that EQ2 was too far gone into the world of bland to be fully rescued. IMHO, YMMV. All we can hope for is that he takes that "games should be fun" theory with wherever he goes.
