I didn't post a single thing that was erroneous or misleading, I presented FACT.

I think everyone else touched on how terrible your argument was for my other comments pertaining to lack of endgame material or any real reason to carry on a character after you have leveled it to max.

If you think having no reason to continue playing a character after you have leveled it to max in a ROLE PLAYING game is completely valid , please do me a favor and never go near the development of any rpg ever ,thank you.

Some of us actually like the character we named and gave identities to, CoH of all games actually gives you a very extensive way of giving your character a history and trust me I did just that, it has nothing to do with E-Dicks or any other bullshit, it has to do with wanting to carry on the life of my character and not being force fed alts by the developers rather than them trying to create and on going world post 50.

I canceled my HGL pre-order so I figured I'd spend the saved cash on a month of the now free CoV. The game seems a little sluggish to me. I suspect thats due to network issues not the graphics engine...at least I hope. The game doesn't look nearly good enough to run this slow.

Yup. In EQ1 my only charachter at 60+ was my bard. There was so much to do endgame in EQ1, that I never had a reason to stop playing him. I could run LDON missions, or raid, or tradeskill, or run quests, or work on AA. If I was short on time, I would just a couple of AA and log off. It was time well spent and I had no desire to play any other class. I played the game for five years developing just my bard. And we had hundreds of raid encounters in the game - and the devs were constantly adding new stuff.

In contrast, in COH, at the level cap, once I get bored of running the same two raids for a couple of weeks, I get to experience the pure joy of running various emotes. As one person put it, I log in my charachter to cross and cross my arms a few hundred times, and then log off. What's wrong with this picture?

Yeah I like to sit on the cornerstones of buildings and use the crouch emote, with wings it looks like I am a gargoyle...

It's sad that with the patch that introduced wings that's all I did, got my wings, /crouched on a building for 15 min, took an ss then logged off. Haven't been back on since =(

Damn if I didn't look cool though =)

Wait, WHAT! There is plenty to do in COH. You just aren't hardcore enough and need to wax your epeen. How do you want to do anything other than use emotes at the endgame? And no, I don't work for COH. I just don't think you should grossly mislead people like you are. There are no content issues in COH, after all, the emote system is an endgame unto itself.

I am Bizarro.

COH/COV's strong point was always just goofing off and making cool heroes. And killing Nazis until they took them out ;_;

Loosely related, thought I'd throw it here instead of a new thread until something official....

Marvel MMO may be our rumored canceled game - Xbox 360 Fanboy

Quote:
According to whispers into 1UP's ears, the rumor is true and we'll soon find out that (wait for it ...) Marvel Universe Online will be getting axed. This game collaboration between Marvel, Microsoft and Cryptic Studios has been years in the making, but hasn't been openly discussed since an interview way back in 2006. And the odd thing about this Marvel MMO is that nobody (and we mean nobody) is confirming that the game is even in development. Microsoft refuses to talk, Marvel is very hush and Cryptic Studios sidesteps questions when asked. Only time will tell, but even if Marvel Ultimate Online isn't the rumored canceled game, it should still be watching its back. There's definitely some management and development issues going on there. Or maybe they're just being super secret.
Is Marvel Universe Online Dead? news from 1UP.com

Quote:
Alan Wake, Banjo-Kazooie, Halo Wars and Too Human are all fine. However, 1UP has been told the Marvel, Microsoft and Cryptic Studios collaboration, Marvel Universe Online, has hit serious, potentially stalling, development troubles. Though the MMO hasn't been outright canceled publicly just yet -- albeit a move Microsoft hasn't had an issue with before, says True Fantasy Live Online from beyond the grave -- our word from the inside, combined with recent controversies surrounding the studio behind the game, raises serious suspicion.

I wouldn't be surprised if this was true. MSFT has a history of forcing unwanted design changes (AC2 and VG). They also have a history of cancelling MMO's (since they can't see the ROI). They have a reputation for being pretty difficult on the creative process for any game (but especially MMO's). We'll see.

Hell, if this is true, it would make Cryptic the third studio dumped from the project.

Can't say as I'll be upset if the speculation is correct. I've honestly been more interested in the concept art they have posted on their site than the Marvel game.

I think its more then 3 tbh. Marvel desires and amazingly expensive license agreement. They are probably as bad to work with as Lucas Arts. It's their ip but still...

Well, as far as I can recall, it's three that have been publicly announced (Vivendi > Sigil > Cryptic). I suppose it very well could be more than three. I just wonder where they'll go next. It's not like SOE, adopter of all jettisoned projects, is an option.
