| [EVE] Trinity and the new ships I thought this might be worth its own thread, since I bet people have a lot to say about the new ships since the new devblog. My initial thoughts: - As a frigate specialist I am dead thrilled with all the changes they've made recently: Stealth bomber revamp, huge interceptor buff, amazing EW frigates. Now make the non-Ishkur AFs worth a damn please! - The new EW frigates look really sweet. The Hyena should be a good counter to nano-gangs if you're a skilled pilot; looks like the speed should be between 4.5k-5k/s with T2 fit and MWD. Fast enough to dictate range but slow enough that you're vulnerable to light missiles and Warrior IIs (unlike interceptors.) I look forward to flying this ship a lot. But what is with CCP and target painters? Who ordered that bonus? The Amarr one looks neat but good luck fitting for cap recharge and not exploding. Gallente and Caldari, fine. - Heavy interdictor bubbles stop capital jumping! Do they work in lowsec? - The new T2 BS look fantastic, but not flying many BS I can't say I can comment. From other people's analysis, though, it looks like Marauders will easily overtake the combat prowess of faction BS in terms of damage and tank. Perhaps CCP is trying to solve capital blobs by making subcapital ships which are stronger and stronger. (They're sticking with the low sensor strength, though - ECCM might become nearly mandatory on Marauders.) - I'm really eager to see clever traps with recon ships and covert cynos. |

| Err, Hyena can only web to 20km, and Vagabonds/Huginns both hit farther. Hyenas will be great as a cheap Rapier replacement in regular gangs, but they don't counter nano-gangs. The Amarr EAS is horrible. I'm hoping the Heavy Dictors really do prevent gate jumps as well as cyno jumps, as it would give them a unique and interesting role and compensate for the bubble being shit.

| Amarr got shafted on the Marauders, the Paladin is pure shit. No damage bonus, and a laughable 5% cap/level bonus. The Redeemer is excellent though. Quote:

| Could you expand some more on that? While I'm loathe of the use of the thron model I'm trying to look for alot of things that make this ship special. Yeah, the bonuses are nice but it's still weak on ECM and drone bay. At the end of the day it looks like a mission-centric ship that can get by with less turret slots and has the cargo/high-slots to negate the need for a loot/salvage ship. Not to mention the tractor beam bonus.

| Kronos effectively has 10.0 (4x2.00x1.25) turrets, the tracking bonus, armor rep bonus for tanking, the extra t2 resists, and the 10% web bonus turns a 90% web into 99%. Megathron's 7 turrets = 8.75 worth of damage, 1 free high slot/launcher Kronos' 4 turrets = 10 worth of damage and requires half the ammo, 3 free high slots 7km/s ship with 90% web = 700m/s 7km/s ship with 99% web = 70m/s (only requires 1 web fitted, frees up a mid slot)

+5 Internets | Don't forget it has the grid to fit a strong tank, neutrons, MWD, 3 magstabs, and neuts, along with 1200m3 of cap boosters. The normal mega (and even the faction variants) couldn't come anywhere near that. |

| Keep-At-Range + an MWD pulse would probably do it. It's still an amazing ship and it and the Keros will most likely end up being what I fly when I'm not in an interdictor.

| No way - assuming you only have one web on the Hyena and the vagabond pilot is super snaked and stuff he will still be going under 1km/s to your 5km/s. Even assuming all you do is click orbit and go AFK that shouldn't be fast enough to fuck you up. |

| t2 megathron is 14% more dps than t1 megathron t2 tempest is 6.5% more dps than t1 tempest and 37.5% more tracking Then you have web bonus vs falloff bonus, overall I'd say they're quite balanced, the t2 tempest is better vs battleship and in larger gang, the t2 megathron is better for soloing purposes and at shooting smaller stuff. t2 apoc suck because web bonus suck on a ship you won't fit a MWD on, they should have either given a range bonus on the web or given a nos/neutraliser bonus imo. t2 raven remains by far the best pve ship, and it's also by a large margin the best anti support BS (the best anti support ship in game?) I'll fly them all, except the t2 apoc, it sux. |
