| If this rumor is true, the one thing I hope for the most is for them to incorporate the alignment system from the KotOR series. Ever since I played those games, I've wanted a MMOG to design quests in a way that have a direct impact on what classes you can be depending on how you complete them. If they were to include this, I'd be one of the first people in line to preorder. Quote:

| I hope they do it right. I'm surprised no one's mentioned... Yeah.... sure. Or are they just talking about the SW fans which will buy anything with a wookie?

+8 Internets | If it is something like: - Jedi Knight/KOTOR on the ground, with vehicles - XWing vs. Tie Fighter in space, with capital ships and space stations and both spheres have nearly EVE-depth skills trees and upgrade systems, I would probably never purchase another video game, ever. |

| Well if its based off of KOTOR you'd have a few different Jedi classes (3 at least), you'd have the hunter-killer/assassin droids, the fix-it/interrogation droids which would kinda be interesting actually, Bounty Hunter (both out and out bad ass types like Calo and Canderous, and more gadget based like Mira) and Smuggler. At the very least...

+2 Internets | A software company I work for was bought out by a big corporation about 5 months ago. It's not gaming related, but I'm sure the management of aquisition is similar. They didn't touch us much at first and made us continue with what we were doing, while making small integrations, like changing to Team Foundation Server for source for example. Never did they ask us to change something about our product. A company is bought out because they show immense potential with greater growth potential with larger backings. The purchasing corporation doesn't want to fix something that isn't broken, but make it better. I don't see how EA can fuck up the development of this game, but you may find their support side being underwhelming. |

+61 Internets | There's a BIIIIG fucking difference between Company A acquiring Company B versus EA acquiring anything. Something along the lines of the difference between a man having sex with a woman versus a man having sex with a gopher hole. |

Yeah, EA's track record of buyouts really is the only thing worrying me about this game. Otherwise as mentioned already..it has the potential to top everything for the slightest SW/MMO fan.

| EQ1 Apologist | Actually, it didn't. It was a pile of crap placed on top of a solid game and somehow came out smelling like a subpar batch of roses. It wasn't awesome, but it didn't suck. That was the strength of KotoR... the shitty sequel (not made by Bioware... it was made by Obsidian...) was still great just because of the engine and the world it had created. |

if you want to see proof of this, just do what others have said and look at EA's track record over the past 10 years. what they do to companies is akin to sticking your dick in a gopher hole.
