I'm so excited, I'm just thinking of how well they do the their combat mechanics. They always do a good job on making abilities and certain strategies work really well in certain situations, but not being too over powered. An MMO w/ a single player RPG complexity just brings a smile to my face.

Is it possible to make fun group/raid based PvE without the a variation of the holy trinity. If they are trying to mimic WoW how do you adjust the holy trinity for a star wars setting?

This is probably the biggest reason EA bought into Bioware. A SWG done right is money in the bank.

Jedi Guardian + Jedi Consular and you got your tank/healer. Everyone has telekinesis so everyone has CC. I guess =x

As much as I LOVE the idea of this game, I almost wish some game company would set a Star Wars game in the New Jedi order period. Players could choose to be a Jedi or a Yuuzhan Vong. How fucking cool would that be ?!

Retarded, since the whole ideas behind New Jedi Order completely contradict everything that was cool about the original Star Wars. And the writing is so sloppy now it may as well be licensed by TOR Fantasy. Even Aaron Allston now sucks compared to what he wrote for Wraith Squadron back in the day.

I fell off of star wars novels at vector prime or so to read less episodic sci-fi. Is it really that awful now?

the real funny thing about this is that there are lot of the same assholes working on bioware's version of SWG. True Story.

Won't matter. EA's brand has so much baggage with it that it taints any new IP acquisitions they make. Hard to imagine how ANYONE could squander the LOTR brand after the films' global success, for example.

At this point EA just needs to rebrand a new umbrella outfit if only for their MMO strategies and new properties. Something entirely new and unrelated from the EA brand. They could brand it Boiling Elephant Semen and it would provoke a more favorable response in the editorials and reviewer crowd than EA would.

Its not the worker ants which ruin the new nest, its the leaders. As long as people like Koster took a hike, maybe we'll have more sabers instead of dancing.

When I first played KOTOR I was thinking "this is what SWG should've been".

Here's hoping this goes well.

It's 100% retarded

BIG SPOILERS BELOW

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Jacen Solo becomes convinced his grandpa had it right after all, becomes a Sith apprentice, kills Mara Jade to obtain a Darth title, considers or tries killing pretty much everyone around him at some point (including his wife, his daughter, etc etc), and is now pretty much set on trying to conquer the Galaxy. He'll probably be stopped by Ben, Luke's son, who'll probably turn out to be an EVEN MORE powerful force user than he is.

Power-ups galore, this franchise is becoming a bad Seinen show.

Naruto , Ichigo and half the cast of DBZ could show up and I wouldn't be surprised. Shit, at least that would make the whole train wreck an interesting train wreck.

So yeah, it's all good as long as the games stays the fuck away from the post EP6 "Expanded Universe".
