| Well, I had heard about the pay for currency type stuff second hand, so never got any info straight from the source. That's good that they will be making it possible for people who don't want to spend actual money to still get the stuff that will cost actual money. Makes me feel a whole lot better about it. |

As for the leveling speed, what the email I got said was that they are simply calling it a beta because it's not totally public accessible yet, and there's really not going to be anything special about release (with the possible exception of the pay-pwn system being put into place at some point, my own conjecture here), one day they will just say "ok it's released" and the game will go public. No char wipe or anything, just "public release." Hopefully they will stick to that plan as long as things don't get too bent out of shape at some point (broken advancement, or too many people hitting caps). | |

| k the game is growing old on me. I'm autoattacking with double wands (lol) and using a single skill (meteor) in tough situations. Both hellgate and mythos seemed to have seriously dumbed down the variety of skills from D2. |

+3 Internets | I've played a bunch of hours but they haven't granted me any beta invites. Sorry! It's a LOT like D2. No overarching quest line, though, as far as I can tell. That bothers me. There are missions (maps & epic maps), which I like. The epic maps are only slightly harder than a normal quest map or purchased map, though. As I said earlier, I would love an option to play in FPS. You can switch to vanity mode in the middle of movement, which shows that the current system could support it. Balance and tuning appears far from complete. The marksman (ricochet) build in gadgeteer is insanely powerful. Melee combat appears incredibly underpowered. As far as I can tell, dual wielding anything is broken; swing left followed by swing right is only slightly faster than continuously swinging right (e.g., if using 1h + shield or a 2h that is the same speed as 1h). I don't see the point of using dual pistols when a rifle/shotgun is the same speed and fires a spray instead of 1 shot at a time. |

| I'm loving Mythos. As people have said, it feels like you're playing D2, but with the TQ skill system. The monsters, bosses, items all work pretty close to identically to D2. I'm playing a coalsmasher pyromancer. Full wisp with 1 point in the golem to tank for me. I really enjoy walking to the beginning of a room then just chaincasting pets until everything is dead. |

| just dont build a piercing shot gadget, shooting a shot at a random mob in a hallway could take out the room beyond in an epic +5 before you even know theres a room there. that spoils any other build b/c nothing kills even remotely close to that speed in epics. |
