My ideal Shard of Fear would have been scaled up to level 80+ right off. I would have stated up front that this zone was not intended to be cleared by current level 70's and that most players would actually be unable to completely more than a small part of the zone till after the level cap was raised.

This would have the benefit of (A) giving players a progressive zone to work through that comes out right before a major expansion, which (B) adds to the chance the zone will actually see significant traffic after said expansion actually releases, and (C) gives up front glory to the hardest of the hard while still giving down the road glory to players who need to level/gear up in Kunark a bit first.
Agree. I'm a casual player, but when I'm adventuring, I want a challenging encounter/environment that would take some work and that will be relevant for some time.

A little disappointing to hear.

As an aside...I cannot believe how many new, and old new people are logging in and playing. There has been a virtual explosion of newbie questions, with a huge portion being the first time newbie style ones, with a lot of people talking about having been around back at launch and now coming back to try again. This is for AB, the server that is already ass-ploding from overloading heh.

This must be the beginning (or the maturing of) the Kunark Effect. Never underestimate the power of nostalgia.

Perhaps the reason why Shard of Fear is what it is.....is that it's a "Shard of...." (i.e. a small fraction of what the REAL version will end up being?) I dunno. Perhaps I'm thinking when I should be bitching like everyone else.

My old account isn't reactivated; is there something you have to do?

I didn't see anything like that, but I just happened to resubscribe last night after a year long absence. I don't have any free time on my account, but I did notice that they gave me EoF for free once I logged in.

From what I've heard, Nizara is still harder than Shard of Fear and Nizara itself is still pretty easy. I'm kind of disappointed that they would make this zone to be easy, but it is nice to see all of these "artifact" items resurfacing again. Crimson Robe of Alendine? Come on, lol that's win.

Loving the password authentication server downtime issues this morning. Not only does it go offline at 9:00.01 est on the nose (like it was planned) but there is zero, zilch, nada, no support available what-so-ever. No phone support, no email support, no chat support. I hear some people are in touch with in game CS, but thats just a body like you or me.

Did I mention how awesome LoN looks ? And all these tournaments and events. Sheesh, such an awesome thing !

The emperor has no clothes Scott.

We just need a 21st century way for Smed to show up as a giant Gnome and tell all us people who can't log in, to "go away".

God forbid they have support or any sort of monitoring system in place thats 24 hours or at least support 7 days a week with limited hours. (ie 8am to 8pm) They're only making millions of dollars a year, I mean, I can totally see their reason for not having some sort of system in place. :/

Millions per month, never mind per year.

Well, as soon as the game is back up I'm cancelling my sub and probably returning to FFXI or another game. I avoided SOE like the plague after their CS in EQ and it took me a good few years to be lured in to EQ2 by some old guildees. Now, after four months of this kind of thing, namely Friday EU primetime downtime and lost days gaming, I'm more than a little angry at myself for giving them another chance and more of my money.

Not being able to log in to cancel my account or post my anger on their boards is just the icing on the cake.
