I'd say the loot is on par with the difficulty, I got some upgrades there for slots I didn't have stuff from other EoF instances in. I'd sure wear AoN regardless of the -100 HP. The zone has a lot of fear resistance gear that's situationally usefull in the zone and it might be a sign they are gonna have dragons fear a lot Kunark like in the old days. Quote:
I can see from a raiders point of view (used to be one myself) that you want a single group zone that's suited towards people with raid gear and that offers upgrades to raiders, but what would the purpose of raiding be if the best loot you can get is in a single group instance (once you've done raiding with 20+ people). I think SoF is a succes, it's harder then Unrest, offers some good loot, looks great and has a lot of nostalgia moments.

+2 Internets | It really is pretty easy. The mobs have almost no HP, INCLUDING the epic 2x mobs. who also appear to hit like girls. If your healers are quick with cures, you basically just win by default. Quote:
absolutely. I really can't upgrade much of anything in Nizara anymore, but it's still a fucking blast. That place is pretty damn hard.

| The Evil side is cooler, you only wish your starting city was as fabu as Neriak. All rangers should be Frogloks however. As amusing as Frogloks in platemail are they are even better dolled up like Robin Hood and plunking away on their shortbows. |

I appreciate the desire for Unrest 2.0 where ungeared players can go for the chance at good loot without too much ridiculous effort. And honestly, I'm not against the idea for more dungeons and more content for characters that might be a bit more casual or a bit less geared. I'm a huge fan of Unrest, Acadechism, Mistmoore Catacombs, Kaladim, Obelisk of Blight, and Crypt of Valdoon already. But this zone - THIS zone is the Shard of Fear. You know...Fear? Cazic-Thule's doorstep? Home of the Faceless? Fear? Yeah, I want my Shard of Fear hard. I want it ridiculously hard. I want it so hard groups are complaining about it being impossible because they haven't figured out encounters or puzzles yet. Know what we did this week? We romped through Fear with a Wizard's alt Guardian who was in mostly Mastercrafted with a couple of Legendary set pieces. And we did just fine. Let me repeat: tank was in basic buddy gear, and we were multipulling yellow ^^^'s five at a time. Several of our members went in with pick-up groups that were blowing the doors off the zone in broker gear. My ideal Shard of Fear would have been scaled up to level 80+ right off. I would have stated up front that this zone was not intended to be cleared by current level 70's and that most players would actually be unable to completely more than a small part of the zone till after the level cap was raised. This would have the benefit of (A) giving players a progressive zone to work through that comes out right before a major expansion, which (B) adds to the chance the zone will actually see significant traffic after said expansion actually releases, and (C) gives up front glory to the hardest of the hard while still giving down the road glory to players who need to level/gear up in Kunark a bit first. I was still running the original Plane of Fear after Planes of Power released. I can't see myself touching Shard of Fear much after Rise of Kunark releases, except to run through for the achievements I'm missing out on now as a 70/100.

| I really wish they'd take a page from WoW instancing and make a normal and heroic (x2) option with maybe even x3 final bosses with appropriate loot. Nothing 6 man in this game is even remotely hard and people whining about it either a) play with bad players b) are bad themselves. Gear means pretty much nothing when you are with competent people who know how to play their class. I pull down 3x the exp in groups with alts in shit gear who know what they are doing than with idiots in whatever the best tiered shit is for the level bracket. I clear instances in half the time with shit geared players who know what they are doing than dildos with full fabled who still don't know how to play their class (mostly it's KoS raid fabled tards cause EoF raids you have to kind of pretend to know how to play). I want my option for hard mode damnit. It makes people better at the game to have challenges as well in a small group setting so even idiots have a chance to get better by trying out the hard stuff. |
