Dreamlords MMO/RTS Beta for this new game is available now on Fileplanet for anyone. Its a pretty fun game I think. You have a web client were you build up cities to gather resources, build armies etc. It is Kind of a Civilization style system. You fight mobs on your land through an RTS client. You can then earn cash, resources and gear for your troops. You can also PVP in the RTS client vs other people. What you get to bring to the fight depends on what you have earned in the RTS PvE game and built up in the web client.

Been playing it since alpha, its still really in alpha. The client runs like a dog, they keep changing the web elements drastically. I'm not really sure they know what they want to do with the game.

It's actually pretty interesting in concept. You do all your management functions in the webclient, which has gotten pretty damn powerful. The executable client is only used for PvE and PvP battles. Oh yeah, and btw, there is definately PvE in the game. Lots of the game revolves around clearing monsters off your terrority. Your units even get MMORPG style abilities, like taunts and detaunts.

The games out in a few days, is anyone on here still playing it? The screenshots look cool and all, and the concept and theme is interesting, but this web-management thing is odd to me.. Does anyone have any screens of this web client thing and will more time be spent managing or playing?

I got into it for awhile, but it changes so quickly and so drastically that I lost interest in it. Anything I have to say about it, other than whats already been said about the budget rts client, would probably be meaningless due to how much they overhaul it.

+18 Internets | The world has ended - everything changes It is said that the only constant thing in life is change...and change is most definitely upon us. The last Era went out with a bang and everything was lost...the world ended in flames. So is it all over now? No of course not, but major changes and trials lies ahead of us all and we want to give you a heads up of what is happening. The Good News! Lockpick Entertainment is proud to announce that development of Dreamlords: Re- awakened has begun. This new part in the Dreamlords saga will introduce many new features, missions together with upgrades of various functions and we are really thrilled about it, to say the least. The Challenge Now for the part you might not like so much: We are not a big development studio with unlimited resources and we don?t have a large publisher behind us. In order for us to focus fully on Dreamlords: Re-awakened, Dreamlords will be unavailable for some time. Trust us, it hasn?t been an easy decision but after much consideration we have decided to let Dreamlords rest for a while. To be honest with you (as opposed to give you some corporate mumbo-jumbo) we simply can?t develop Dreamlords: Re-awakened at the same time as keeping up a good level of service with Dreamlords, it wouldn?t be fair to you nor us. We develop games because we love it and if we can?t do it exactly the way we want it, we?d rather give it a rest instead of squeezing a couple of extra bucks out of you. We need you! We are still here and will maintain the forum as well as sending out regular news and information to you about the progress, but most important of all: We want your help to make Dreamlords: Re-awakened the best possible gaming experience! Therefore we invite all current or previous paying subscribers to take part in our closed test group. Just keep logging on to Dreamlords, your account details will be exactly the same as before. Your feedback is invaluable. Over time we will expand the test group so keep your eyes open. If you still have subscription time left and don?t want to wait around for Dreamlords: Re-awakened, please contact our customer service at [http://support.dreamlords.com] to arrange for a refund. Join us And finally: We are so very happy that you have wanted to be a part of the Dreamlords experience so far, and really hope that you want to move on to the next level together with us. Best, The Dreamlords team

The game had potential but it was wasted and they released a pretty crappy game. I gave them a pretty detailed writeup and offered suggestions on how to make the game more fun. I was pretty good at suggesting things that didn't fall out of the scope of the current state of the game. They basically said 'whatever, we know what we are doing.' I never touched the game much after that and I knew it would fail. It's not like it was some random post either. I was responsible for a bunch of stuff, had full moderator access on the forums and was having a direct discussion with the devs in their private forum. I'll be amazing if they can turn it around. It would be cool if they did. I'm not counting on much from them though.
