If a lone 70 is in HFP odds are there are a few low 60s that can team up on him. If people don't want to team up to kill someone then they don't need to be on a PvP server either.

What's the point? You only get honor if you're actually fighting someone near your level (ie: never) and there's no other reward. If you want to kill people just to kill people, go play quake. The entire point of pvp is a combination of teamwork or mission objectives (ie: arenas and bg's respectively). Finding a flagged person at 10% hp and killing them while they eat isn't pvp. You're just being an asshole. The only thing that accomplished is it made that person waste time running back to his body and rebuffing. Do you like wasting time? Do you like it if someone arbitrarily decides, "Hey fucker! Guess who's gonna make a trip to the graveyard!"

I've killed 70's on my low 60's twinks when I'm leveling in HFP with a partner. The people that gank greys are horseshit players with horseshit gear. THAT is why I play on PvP, it's an awesome feeling to win a fight you should have no chance of.

First of all, it also happens to people who do the killing. Secondly, you can avoid being surprised most of the time by actually making an effort to be aware of your surroundings. I.e. rotate the camera while fighting, and scoping out areas before killing mobs there. Thirdly, it's not like you're all alone in the world. There are people with green name tags running around too.

The threat of players from the enemy faction killing you DOES make the game more challenging, despite what people here will tell you. (though it does vary depending on server age) If you keep in mind that you could be jumped at any time, you can avoid many gank scenarios. Level 70s going on rampages is not a huge problem.

Everybody knows that the current state of PvP in MMOs is crap. But that does not mean the PvP servers of WoW aren't preferable to many people. Most of whom do not go on gank-fest killing sprees.

If someone attacks you and dies, they deserve anything they get including corpse camp. Not disputing that. Rotating the camera isn't going to help when a 200% speed lvl 70 pops out of no where. And what am I supposed to do if there is a higher level opposing player where my quest is? Just not do the quest? How's that make sense? And what do other people have to do with anything? I wouldn't trust the random person to know how to wipe their own ass let alone 2v1 a higher level player.

As far as 14 month old av quotes, that was typed in anger as a product of the system. I don't disagree that the way they nerfed av that it leads to afk and even passively encouraged it. I did it on occasion for various reasons: auto-loss once sent to the cave, tired, lazy, etc, but I was always willing to give it up to force all 40 horde to participate or leave.

If I did 90% of the damage to a person, why should people who did 0 get any of the honor? Why should I give a fuck about the level 62 rogue standing next to me unable to kill a fucking pet?

While the first part is true, the second isn't. I pvp'ed for usually double digit hours a day for more than a year. I think I was killed a couple times. I just can't stand it when I'm killed without me having any chance. If I have no chance to kill you, you shouldn't be allowed to attack me. Don't see how that's unreasonable.

I gave up on PvP servers for mostly the same reasons. People randomly wasting my time at every level of the game was never anything more than tiresome. Death just doesn't have enough consequences to get me to care.

I think it's the tension that arises from knowing that can occur which inspires people. It keeps them motivated and interested. Yes, it can be a drag too.. if the drag outweighs the excitement, don't do it. If it doesn't, enjoy!
