| You can get off your high horses. VG sucked at release. We get it. Everyone gets it. There's noone here who doesn't get it. It took a year to turn EQ2 around. It's been a year and VG has turned the corner. Deal. |

VG hasn't turned shit. I have tried, I know, don't crap me. Not saying at some point it can't be good, but it is still dogshit. If i can find 5 dumbasses to say Horizons is a good game, will that make it a so? | |

| I'm still completely confused as to why SOE would buy this game. I've tried it twice, at release and again over the summer and it really is so far from being a finished, polished product it blows me away Sigil spent 40 million or so developing it. I think they should assimilate the good portions into EQ2/EQ and just dump the game. I have yet to talk to almost anyone who cares for it, including old time EQ hardcore people from the day. |

| I don't think there are any portions good enough to bother with. It's not like you can just transplant the engine (even if you were psycho and wanted to do that). Diplomacy wouldn't work and the new SOE card game takes care of that anyway. EQ2 tried that grindy ass crafting and already streamlined it as is. Not sure what there is in Vanguard that someone would want to rip out that they couldn't do better from scratch.

| Well whatever their plans, the first phase of GU 3 seems to be generally positive. Lots of people, including myself, noticing FPS boosts; some as high as 20-30 fps. My guess is if they have a skeleton crew on VG now they will be doing two things: working on that trial island and fixing the occasional bug. Don't look for any real content additions until the game can show some semblance of growth |

+1 Internets | I always thought it was for access to the music creation program that Nino used. From interviews years back I remember it sounding completely amazing, and his efforts in Vanguard show the extent of what could be done with it. I have no idea if they even kept the program though, but that and art concepts and the abysmal chance at a successful game probably drove SOE to buy it. Plus it let SOE tack on another 5 dollars to the all access pack, and I highly doubt SOE thought it would fail as much as it did.
