Not to mention Vanguard still has a way to go before being a well-rounded game. I don't see SOE allocating any devs from other projects to Vanguard. If I'm wrong, great for Vanguard. I would love to see SOE truly commit themselves to developing and relaunching the game. Sadly, I don't think I am. | |

| theres no reason to be grumpy. Give it 2 years and vanguard will be one of the top products for modding and free server play. We may even enjoy custom content like shards of dalaya(everquest 1 custom mod clone). Perfect for me would be if they would drop the ball and close the game. |

| Apparently Vanguard lost 18 people, leaving the game with only half it's previous staff... Do the math! (Before anyone asks, the source didn't show anything in the form of proof, but if this does turn out to be true. Vanguard = dead(er)) |

| Considering they had at most 40 people a couple of months ago and some left prior to this (Cylus for example) I don't see what difference it will make. 18 people or 22 people on staff.. when the pace of updates has been glacial, Blizzard-like even (hah a pun!) I don't think it will get any faster.

| I would think SoE's two options are just shut down VG permanetly and do something else with the what's left of the staff. Or shut it down for a period and revamp it and relaunch it. A relaunch without some signifiant actual shut down time wouldn't help. People need to think they actually reworked it from the inside out and not just made minor incremental changes to come back. Honestly I couldn't understand why anyone was still playing a month after launch - but there was - so that proves that at least some minor percentage of people will play anything. Hearing the game has improved from those people wouldn't really sway me. Stringing VG along for a year more with a patch every 3 months I don't see what this accomplishes unless it's a contractual obligation of some sort before they kill it. |

| They won't kill it just like they haven't killed MxO or Planetside. It adds value to the Station Pass and it doesn't cost them much to have half a dozen people maintaining it. It's pretty simple really. Finish GU3 so you have a 'raid game' and finish the trial isle so you have a free demo. Release them and let it take care of itself. If you suddenly get 100k subs, then allocate funds to support it, if you don't then put the bare minimum to keep it working on it and shove it to the back while you work on newer, more promising titles.
