| Who said that famous quote anyways? It is slipping my mind, but it feels like it was only yesterday. Shit it feels like it was only yesterday that we were all jizzing over the Sigil logo =/. What a shame.

| Wasn't it that Aleksei_FL lawyer from Europe living in Miami who had 2.7 kids and 3.5 alienware laptops and let you know it in every post he made?

| I just remember there was some patch and there was one person that said that famous quote before anyone else and it was a quote that might have ended up true, but failed horribly over the due course of time.

| Under the new leadership of Thom Terrazas, an eight-year SOE veteran, SOE will continue its commitment to Vanguard and its players. The remaining Vanguard team members are going to continue to deliver on an exceptional product. They are a creative force in the online games space and we look forward to continuing the vision for Vanguard and to continue to deliver groundbreaking game play. SOE remains committed to seeing Vanguard grow and prosper. Ok, so two things I am reading from this statement. One, are they laying off even more employees? Given their track record with MxO or SWG, one could infer that they could be putting the game on harvest, and not adding much new content. Two, they said they had a vision. Well, what vision is that? As someone who is taking a wait-and-see approach, I'd like to know what the one and two year vision is moving forward. They might want to talk about the long term plan for VG while there is any interest left in it at all.

| People are still taking the 'wait and see approach'? I'd think that after 'waiting' almost a year and 'seeing' shit like this would be enough. ![]()

Bashing the game has become so popular these days. Personally, I think if SOE spent a year to get this out of beta state, it would be fine. I am just not going to pay sub fees during that time. If I were in SOE's shoes, and had a product that sold 200K boxes (and supposedly only has 25K people playing now), I'd be doing everything I could to resurrect it. It can't be that expensive to fix a game that is probably 80% done. Bottom line: Not many people remember how much EQ2 used to suck. This game can go one of two directions: It can be put on ignore like SWG and MXO, or reinvigorated like EQ2. The announcement makes it look like it is being put on ignore. And given lack of SOE communicating the long term plan just goes to further that notion.

+38 Internets | I love the PR spin words used in this announcement. "exceptional product", "continuing the vision", "groundbreaking gameplay". None of which should be associated with anything related to Vanguard. Well, maybe the continuing the vision part, if they mean continuing the vision of complete shit. |

Its getting better and better, but it still has a ways to go. Brad fucked it up beyond belief. Nothing more can be said really. I play it. i raid test, i enjoy what they are having us do. I have the all access pass. so its not that bad for me. I still play EQ occasionally and go into EQ2 to bs with some friends and mess around. No loss for me really.

+1 Internets | They'll finish off the first batch of raid content (APW) and the lure (noob isle) and then see what that does to the subscription numbers. If there's not a fairly significant increase in subs they'll probably shrink the dev team through silently moving them on to other projects. The vanboys can keep dreaming about their "re-launch", but SOE is not going to fund a large dev team for a game with such feeble subs. |
