| Interesting Darkfall Update Lords of Death » Asp’s Darkfall full preview and Q&A! Someone from LoD (pretty famous UP/SB pks who were popular in WoW too due to making the Setz & Plexx vids - first and best wow vids) visited the DF office in greece and was one of the first persons outside the team to testplay the game. Most information isnt new (some nice details, thou), but... until now all we fans had were Devs telling us "Its fun, trust me!". Now we have an oldschool pk who testplayed it and tells us "Its true!" Also all those vaporware claims have been proven false ;] Nice read. |

| I remember the Setz & Plexx Wow videos. Twas good stuff. Judging from the article, it seems to have a similar take as UO and Eve.

| I played with LoD for some time back in Shadowbane. Last episode of Grenade we got one of them to come on the show about this article. Some stuff I could not reveal on the air but it sounds like this game is actually not vaporware, contrary to everything I had thought for the last 5 years I knew about it. We are having another friend of mine from them coming on this week to talk about DF and the failures and shortcomings of MMORPGs so check us out. Grenade is at 7 pst/ 9 cst/ 10 est every Sunday at www.uberguildsradio.com. |

| They lost their publisher a year or two ago, and have been spinning their wheels trying to get picked back up. That's what I heard and considering the lack of news from them, I'm guessing it's true. I think I signed up for the beta for Darkfall in '01 or '02. Here's to hoping it comes out. |

| Well it looks like their graphics engine is having a lot of problems right now. Darkfall on WarCry : Forums : DarkFall Dev Team Journals : Developer Journal #13: Development Update The concepts sound cool but it sounds like they are trying to please everyone at once. This always seems to lead to a bad game though. Crafting makes the best items bs etc. Instead of trying to please everyone they should pick an area to focus on and just please that group Last edited by Hachima : 10-13-2007 at 07:03 PM. |

+1 Internets | I was excited about this game around a year and a half ago, and the more I watched it, the more it became obvious that it was going to have trouble releasing. It seems like vaporware at this point. Rather unfortunate, to be honest. |

| While the article is definitely uplifting, something really strikes me as odd that they could only let him use a build from last year. Hearing that two dozen serious professionals were working on it when he came in at first struck me as "Wow, this really is going to happen." But then I started thinking: what do the offices of vaporware games look like? I imagine they, too, have development teams actually doing things up until the game is canceled. Even the journal updates coming out of there have begun to get sketchy, although this I can sort of understand as after an eon of development and community discussions, there really isn't much left to say. So all in all, even though this comes off initially as great news, I'm not sure it actually means anything. |

| What some of you still think as vaporware got 20 millions some weeks/months(?) ago. Dunno, do all vaporware projects get that much money? I also doubt someone would make an awesome playable demo, then just show it to 2-3 persons outside the office and finally make it vaporware. Edit: They will be selfpublishing most likely. They stated several times that they have the money to do it and that they will do it, if no publisher that fits their wishes is found. Last edited by Inconsiderable : 10-14-2007 at 03:04 AM. |

| It always looked to me that Vanguard was massively stealing features like diplomacy and naval battle from Darkfall (which was announced in 2001). I hope that the much delayed "original" turns out better than the copy.
