At a certain point in the game, you will pay infinite gold for an infinitely small upgrade, simply because gold has very little value in WoW since it's easy to acquire everything you need and then never have to pay another cent unless you want to twink alts/minimum requirements of paying for the occasional enchant and gem.

That's why BT gems and Hearts of Darkness sell for obscene prices, someone who isn't in a quality raid guild can accumulate 20,000 gold easily, but they can't do anything productive with it.

As far as Fel Leather gear, it's 20-25g for the heavy leather, 1.5g for the thread, 80g or more for the primals (post nerf but there was still a large supply so 10g was the norm), and I pretty much had to farm the fel leather which was not fun when the only place you can even come close to "farming" it is exactly where people are doing their BEM dailies. Over 100g per combine (assuming I'm farming all the fel leather and that it has a 0 opportunity cost) for something I'm forced to shard. Thankfully I only had to make 5 since clefthoof is actually easily farmable.

If you say the words "[Clefthoof Leather]" to a LW and they don't cringe, you had it easy. I maybe could have made some better choices on what to skill up on but being a 2nd alt when everyone in the guild had already finished everything they needed w/ non-heroics and not wanting to pug, I was not going to grind shatar and KoT and never got a hat recipe so I was forced to shell out globs of time and money.
You made fel leather at 355? what the hell does clefthoof leather even cost for you? At 50g a stack its not even 100g per skill point. Once you hit drum skill range it got even easier. 300->365 was probably 400g for me. The end result of my lwing grind was a good dozen spare Drums of Battle and 10 large prismatic shards. OH NOES.

If you wanted a hat recipe you could have just gone and farmed durnholde trash, you play a lock right? That crap is simple to do.

I hope you're joking about the clefthoof. That or you've never had to level off of it. Boots gave me absolute shit for points and vests, requiring double the clefthoof, weren't much better. When I made 5 vests and got 1 point I was seriously tempted to abandon the profession out of spite less than 10 points from my goal. And as I said, this was back when drums were exalted, and the time it would take me to grind those factions would be more than the time I could spend in nagrand farming clefthoof .. which is what I did.

Are you a fucking retard? Do you really think my warlock was a leatherworker? Yea I leveled it up so I could shard the 3 piece set I couldn't use for void crystals. BRILLIANT.
