I never seemed to have a problem with that quest. You can do several of them on the beach at the same time so it's not that bad. The drop rate could be bumped up a little, but it wasn't that bad for me at least.

Jumping onto a year old level 50 and trying to figure out what quests you've done or haven't done is mighty amusing.

I just did this zone yesterday while leveling up alt #28 (Horde). It's not really that bad, folks. The "Monstrous Crawler" thing is pretty easy once you find them (about 2/3rds the way north up the beach, or all over in the water - just chug a Water Breathing Pot and go to town). Those big crocs you need for some other quest are all over the same area. And back in pre-twink days (like, 3 years ago), the weapons you got from those orc quests on the beach were pretty decent.

Besides, that murloc cave is a great place to grind a few generally peaceful levels on a PvP server, since Alliance never go there. Also, it's a great zone for Herbalism, and is packed end-to-end with a broad range of skill-increasing herbs to grab.

You did know all of those wandering dragonkin mobs aren't Elite any more, right?

I remember leveling my herbalism up to ~275-280 there incredibly quickly. It's arguably one of the best zones to do that in, even more if you have a mount or epic mount.

Also, the dragonkin change. I don't know when that happened, but it's probably a fairly welcome change. I think they were just spread out too far over the zone to warrant being elites.

Your math is faulty. That 0.012 of 2millions, or 1.2% (and as people noticed, that's the number of people in BT, rather than having fully cleared it).

Thing to remember about shitty quests/zones is, it's still better than grinding for grinding. At least you get additional xp/gold/rewards out of it, and to me it's less boring because you have a set goal that's usualyl not as far as another level. I usually like swamps of sorrows too, but you need to go there at 40 or so, so you don't aggro the whole zone and especially the stupid cheetahs on your way in, and can complete all quests in a go(the 44 can prove to be hard depending on your class tho)

I feel your pain. I jumped back in a shaman I hadn't played in 4 months and that was even a pain in the ass. I couldn't imagine a year.

if it werent for kael you would prolly see a number closer to 5 percent in BT, which to me is more acceptable given the time spent making them... lets hope sunwell doesnt require an illidan kill... they have a serious problem right now in the difference between how insanely hard it is to get into t6 vs how easy it is to get pvp gear imo... they are doing some work to make it harder on the pvp side but they also need to do some work to make it easier on the pve side... as much as the thought of a kael nerf makes me sick to my stomach.

I had my fill of "grinding mobs for XP" when I played Everquest and when I don't have rested XP it sure makes for one shitty session. When I level through Swamp of Sorrows it feels like I am forced to be there because I have already exhausted most my quest lines in other areas. Increase the drop rate of those items or feather out where you can find the damn mobs. Add more quest hubs that involve those once elite dragons and spiders along with a couple scripted events and that area will be much easier to flow through.

Make swamp of Sorrows worthwhile other than it's claim to fame "closest flight path to Kara".

Well if you are planning on leveling an alliance character in 2.3 this will make you smile

they should move the 55 elite guy in that camp to the front so i dont have to run so far into the camp to kill off gankers.

Oh it's about god damn time. They've added some other flight paths that has helped a lot. This needed to go in around the time I was "raiding" ZG.

There's a flightpath in eastern ashenvale for alliance that I never noticed before. Has that always been there? Only FP I've ever seen was in town, since I've never actually leveled as alliance in ashenvale.

Whenever they finally put a FP in southern Feralas was a good one too.

The eastern Ashenvale one got added when they fleshed out that camp as a quest hub in 2.0. There has always been 2 flight paths in Feralas for Alliance, neither of them are in the south tho.
