| It'll be interesting to see how those XP changes come out. They spent so much time arranging their quests and leveling areas to really guide players through the whole game, and now that seems to be all fucked up. I'm certainly not complaining; it just seems kinda un-Blizzardish. |

i'm curious though if, when season 4 comes out, if season3 will still have the rating restrictions. Hope they only keep rating restrictions on the newest season gear =x | |

| I'd definitely resub if the rates are really that high, which is why I'm anxious to see the final values and what else they have in store. If alls they be doin' is upping the XP rate, it doesn't seem like it'd take 2 more patches to do so, but what do I know. |

| Yeah, I'm not thrilled about the rating req. on S3. IT's all going to come down to how much better s3 is over s2. If it's even marginally better then it's going to be on par with t5/6 raid gear in which case there will be no change. If it's obviously better than all raid gear in the game.. then there will be problems.

Having arena weapons (and shoulders) require a specific rank to purchase isn't such a big deal so long as they continue to make last seasons gear available for purchase through regular honor. So only the best Arena teams will have the current season weapons and shoulders. All others will have full Arena armor but shoulders, and last seasons weapons. If they don't continue with that system the devs are idiots putting themselves exactly where they were with the old honor system. Edit: Add this one to the list. Quote:

| It seems to me that overall it might be an elemental shaman nerf, at least for people with high amounts of spelldmg. - lightning bolt changes from a 3.0 cast time spelldmg coefficient to a 2.5 cast time spelldmg coefficient, but keeps the same final casting time of 2.0 seconds. That likely means it will go from about an 85.7% coefficient to about a 71.4% coefficient. That's a big nerf in DPS for lightning bolt. - chain lightning gets nerfed in a similar way. Weighed against that, we have the buff to lightning overload: - Now a 20% chance to proc instead of 5% (procs 4 times as often) but for half damage. That means that relative to base damage, LO damage has doubled for shamans who have 5/5 in it. However that "doubled" damage is based on the lowered base damage due to the above nerfs. The more +damage you have currently, the worse this change is for you. The increased number of procs from LO, which presumably can still crit, would seem to inflate the value of +crit (as compared to spelldmg) for elemental shamans even more than it already is (as if we need a reason to stack more crit.) However, with regards to crit - the change to elemental focus will save us more mana overall in sustained damage situations unless we're critting alot. Crit chains will result in a savings of only 40% per cast instead of 60% per cast, making elemental focus relatively worse for shamans who are way, way up in the high ranges of crit chance. I haven't crunched the numbers yet so maybe my assumptions are faulty but it doesn't look like a buff based on my first glance. (The changes to water shield are great though, as is the change to LO threat.) |
