A Braen-type EQ1 reunion, but with a rule set people must follow?

Place your bets people, place your bets.

With the right mix of people it could work. What EQ1 has against it is that you need alot more than a few people to make it work, even the smaller raids are built around 54 people (unless that changed recently).

One big issue is people will label this as an "LOL Board Guild" That causes a lot of flakey people to join up and then slowly fade away as the weeks and months go on. After the first month, when most peoples free month is up, thats when yous ee who could stick around.

The trick is to find the ones that truely want to play and get them involved. I did that with Mistwalkers and now we regularly raid and are progressing through EQ2 content. We just basically finished up Kingdom of Sky raiding and are moving on to Echoes of Faydwer raiding to prepare for Rise of Kunark.

One thing I will give EQ2 props for is progression seems well tuned. You really need KoS raid gear for the stats and resists for the EoF raiding. The same thing will happen I hear in RoK, you need your EoF Fabled stuff to truely progress in RoK. Of course when every KoS raid zone looks exactly alike.. it gets a tad bland and boring.

One thing I should make clear is that this operation is never intending on developing a raiding force. The goal of the operation is to simply enjoy the content itself, rather than surpassing it. I would be very happy with the result of it if we ever made it to level 50 as a group, and that itself should take quite a bit of time since we'll be playing once or twice a week.

How does tomorrow night sound to people? Is that too early? If a few people say that Friday night at 7pm EST is ok, we can go ahead with that. Otherwise we'll have to do it next week, maybe Monday.

Sure, why not, I'm down.

I also have very limited time to play right now, but it could be fun.

I am Eastern Time, I want to do it from the beginning, I have no objections to the rules in place.

I'm happy to be any of several classes: I like enchanter, I've usually played a warrior, so i'm good with that too, would love to try playing a wizard or a berserker. So I'm easy in that regard.

I'll make a toon on Combine. Do we want to make a full group out of one race so we can all start at the same place? Hell if we sub an enc for a shm we could all start in Qeynos or Freeport.

I can manage tomorrow night.

Which newbie area do we all want to do the first few levels in?

4pm PST is a little early for me, but I could be on 5-6 pm PST (8-9 EST).

Is this going to be a guild thing, or just people getting together? It sounds like a great idea if we can corral everyone into the same stuff. It would be cool to actually be excited to get a BBC from Befallen.

I'll possibly join up. Not sure which class I'd go as at the moment, depends what ends up being most aesthetically appeasing to me in game. I already have an account active and such, just need to make the character.

Edit: I'll definitely join up, just deciding on class. Full support of the Vent thing aswell, conversation is a good time killer.

I would assume that as long as the bot plays by the rules it wouldn't be a problem.

I'd like to give this a whirl. Friday night is the only night I don't have classes, so its perfect for me. I just have up to Luclin right now as far as expansions go. Haven't gotten around to getting the Anniversary super pack yet. Is this set for Combine, or were you thinking about Braen's suggestion of the Test server for free expansions? Oh yeah, I'm on Eastern time and looking to play a Beastlord. I should be able to make it there tomorrow night, barring anything unexpected coming up.

Nah, that won't be necessary. Make whatever race you want. I'm not sure if I even care whether you use a cat/drakkin either.

I think I'll have us start Sunday night, 6pm EST, since that gives more people time to get their accounts in order and is typically the easiest day for people in general to meet.

What is the best place to kick this off? I'd say Freeport but they fucking changed Freeport/commonlands, so what's the point?

What about Qeynos?
