It has nothing to do with "still establishing" or "figuring things out" and everything to do with legal issues that are discussed between us and our lawyers. We have released a very SMALL amount of information on Metaplace so far, and will be announcing more as the weeks go on. I assure you, we've been working with lawyers since the beginning of Areae's inception and we're more than aware and prepared for all the legal ramifications and situations. There is a lot of information that we just can't disclose (mostly for legal reasons, ironically...) - sorry to disappoint you.

| How do you expect people to get interested in your project when you're not willing to tell them anything about how it is actually going to work from probably the most important aspect of the whole thing? Your lawyers suck if they let you say anything at all before you could answer people's questions about their rights to the IP they create using your tools. |

| You people are mean. When has legal stuff ever come first? The game architecture and strategy are logically the first to roll out; the mechanics and legal framework comes later. Legal work isn't to be rushed, and if they're taking it seriously, it'll be announced as its own component rather then pushed in a "lol, here's the EULA" format. Especially because the legal component is inseparable here from the economic design. Mismanaged expectations would be hugely destructive for something like this; possibly even damaging legally. |

Note I said LEGAL assurances, not the assurances of a messageboard person with a dancing pony as their avatar.

| Well, I don't see any reason why people can't start brainstorming. Just because you come up with some ideas doesn't mean you are forced to use Meatplace to implement them. I'd imagine most people have ideas already, even prior to this announcement. If things pan out well, they have a tool that may be useful. |

Hell, We had to get legal stuff worked out with uberguilds radio before we announced anything about it. Even Kaos War had legal framework setup well before their demo. I'm not taking part in any bashing here but putting it into perspective, once your project even starts development you have to get the legal side finished WELL before it is even announced.

There's no non-shady reason to not disclose the IP structure, at least, at this point.
