| I think one of the things you'll have to look out for, is the backlash you'll get when all the armchair designers out there find out their ideas are terrible. Because most of them won't blame their ideas. I am curious how you'll deal with the Rule 34 aspect, because that's another landmine for a project like this. Realistically, I don't think success like WoW is expected. But, imagine a few games on the scale of Eve. It's a lot of hard work for one person, or maybe a small team, but I'd say it's possible. Regardless, I do plan on watching this closely, both to see what you come up with for the MMO you say you're creating, and what I can possibly create myself. | This is so pure Koster that I am going to stay incredibly far away from it and watch the furcadias and extreme sexually oriented games spring up en-mass. Never forget rule 34. FYI, you should ask Blizzard bans WoW extreme erotic guild if they are interested. |

| Pretty nifty. Lets hope this is as cool as SWG was at release, and Koster doesn't get lured away to some other role / company / position and leaves this "project" in the hands of incompetant boobs who set out to destroy everything they can, ala SWG. Very interesting ![]()

+2 Internets | Certainly worth keeping an eye on to see how it develops! Just seen a BBC news article on this too. BBC NEWS | Technology | Virtual worlds opened up to all |

| The idea is really interesting and I hope it is very successful. Since I'm not particularly artistic the idea of having that end covered and just working on mechanics is very attractive. I do have a question though and I couldn't find it answered anywhere (the website is down or unavailable at the moment) so I'll ask here: If games are created using Metaplace tools, hosted on Metaplace servers, use Metaplace economic features (like the currency idea to make a profit from a popular game) and potentially include standard assets created by Metaplace then who owns what? If someone manages to create a breakout hit can they take their game away from Metaplace and run it themselves? Even if they still use all of the Metaplace tools and assets? Does this get even more complicated if you can potentially borrow parts of other people's games? |

| In order to be embeddable in other pages (esp facebook, myspace, etc) doesn't it need to be a flash object? Or do those sites support runtime java apps? (which opens up the JRE version can of worms) I'm a bit confused exactly how you get a decent graphics experience while still being embeddable. Don't know much about facebook/myspace app programming so just wondering, I assume they imbed inline and not using frames or such. Sounds like an interesting idea, and could be fun for kids, but I shudder at having embedded MMOs or games in every 10th post on forums ![]() |

| I plan on making an MMO where you can be Beavers Weasels and Foxes, and each class is Monk-A, Monk-B and Monk-C and charge Tad $20 a month for it. This will pay for my other MMO subs and an extra 5 bucks for burger and fries. |
