Actually the single realm part does. I played fury a bit, during early alpha, when there was only one server, and even tho it was an alpha and didn't have many people, queues were never more than 1minute long or so. It only became shitty as hell when they decided for whatever reason to divide players on different servers and have them only able to fight other servers.

I'm not sure about these changes tho, especially the paying for abilities part, wonder how it'll play.

Probably a knee-jerk "crap... not enough people are playing, we expected $X players in beta but only have $X/50.... hmmm... I know, lets charge for stuff in game! The hardcore will always pay for stuff!"

Aren't like 3/4ths of the prizes in the "fury challenge" also just extra game time and stuff like that? lol I wonder how much of the "$2 million in prizes" is absolute garbage.

I love this game. Yes, it has it's problems with BB exploits, teaming, etc. but between this and Hellgate I may actually be done with traditional MMOs. The pace of this game is addictive. This is coming from someone who is still a N00b and gets his ass handed to him on a daily basis. There is no way a game developer can program AI to be as good as another Player. If you really want a challenge, play PvP such as this. No I don't mean kill me while I am low health fighting a crab and you "auto-attack" the final blow but true PvP against another Player on a level playing field.

That said, is there anyone on the board in a decent clan that will take me in? If so PM me. I don't really know shit but will be uber given time.

The lag on this game and the fact it takes sometimes 8-10mins to load a battleground kills it for me. I even tried running the low spec...just lag lag lag....fuck it.

First let me say I am a Fanboy for this game. I have never been a real Fanboy before so this is a first.

The main high level change is that your character can use any ability or equipment. You can buy all abilities up front or gain XP via PvP arenas to acquire all them for free. There is a optional monthly fee but you don't need to pay it to be competitive.

This is a non-"auto-attack", non-"stand-still to cast", game that is tons of fun and fast as a Quake match. Therefore, no real grinding or fighting against NPCs. They did add an test arena where you can test your skills against NPCs but that is really for practice. The depth in this game is knowing what abilities to take into battle whether you do a Free For All Bloodbath match or team play with Vortex or Elimination. You can put in various builds at this site, Rate My Build - Fury or SourceForge.net: The FIBrillator!. People will give you advice on the best build. Keep in mind that you will not be good in the game for a while. It will take time to learn the abilities and how to perform in combat.

I see this as a game you play along with your PvE MMORPG for fun on the side. Think of your PVE MMORPG as your Wife and Fury is your Mistress for fun on the side. It is a small development studio that really cares about their game. I hope it does well.

Keep in mind that this is a very difficult game to do well in. It is not a "kill 10 rats" MMORPG. You will get you ass kicked for quite a while until you get the hang of it and create the right ability build. For those who really want to be challenged, this is it.

It looks like that on my computer, with everything maxxed. The video only show finishing moves tho, you rarely use them, at least when I tried the game. I may give the retail version a try since it seems they changed a bit of the annoying parts, and since they're using a 1server structure queues won't be too bad hopefully.

Fury has a big learning curve to be competitive. This guide will help a bit but keep in mind that you will need to play for several weeks or a month before you improve enough to be competitive. During that month you will get your ass kicked repeatedly. This game is pure PvP. No MOBs, No quests, just kill or be killed alone or with your team using your team strategy. Equipment, money, and being able to log long hours in game do not matter. Only understanding your abilities build and how to counter your opponent(s).
