Yeah pretty much. I mean when you really break it all down, it's not a bad deal for 50-60 bucks.

We're a bit spoiled on games like Wow and EQ that can last years.

HC mode is a huge draw for me, I still play D2 HC from time to time. I'd probably play hellgate pretty casually, so I don't really want to pay a monthly fee. Plus when I do get the urge to play I don't want to always be busting out my CC and resubbing just so I can kill a few hours.

10 bucks is nothing, but still it's too much for what they're offering. Plus I really dislike the subscription system they're trying to push. If Hellgate is a huge success next thing you know you'll have to pay 10bucks a month to play ladder games in Starcraft2.

Only is SC2 promises the keep pumping out regular content.

'That' is what the whole subscription thing is about. Sure, maybe FFS will fail to deliver content that is worth the $10, but people are totally perceiving this whole issue the wrong way. They're doing the monthly fee because they want to update the game regularly, and can't do that if they're not making a profit off it.

Remember how often D2 got updated? Yeah.

What derranged reeses monkey thought that the way to engaging 'subscription content' was to spam us with umpteen bajillion nonstackable quest crap?

I can see that the Bonfire Night content might actually be kinda cool except that there are :

1) waaaay too many different components dropped from the various critters.

2) Non stackable recipe pages that are the single most common drop

3) a very low chance of actually finishing any of the recipes!

Most of the recipes involve combining something with a grenade. A grenade is made by a recipe itself combining a gourd (leftover from the halloween event and still drops itself) with a keg of gunpowder.

So you would expect that the most common drops would be gourds, kegs, and the recipe to make the grenades. Instead while I DO get quite a few gourds I got exactly one keg of gunpowder and no grenade recipes in 6 hours of playing last night.

Contrast this with 10-12 each recipes for baked potatoes, hot cider, etc which all require the grenade to make and are non-stackable.

Again its not a bad little concept, but the drop rates are completely backwards and the idea of having sooo many components and having the recipes non-stackable just ruins the experience. I end up stopping every couple hundred yards to destroy / disenchant the misc crap items and that just isnt terribly fun.

Oh god the "theme" drops... my inventory is overflowing with potatoes, cakes, apples and shit... wtb some switch to remove all that crap so I dont have to spend 10 min an hour cleaning the precious inventory space.

Yeah its good that they have some fun theme stuff but come on, in a game where one of the selling points is a larger inventory you CAN NOT put in nonstackable shit that has the same colour as quest drops to boot! MEH!

I wish there was an easier way to deal with your inventory. Why can i not right click or shift & right click to put stuf in the bank?

Other then random complaints here and there i basically like the game enough to give them my 50 + 10 a month for a bit to see what they do.

Yeah I was sooooo glad the halloween shit ended because I was sick of destroying gourds and zombot blood and blueprints. I'm tempted to resubscribe, but the game is litterally killing my system. Its crashed my system so much its corrupting files that the chkdsk is having to fix. I've turned the graphics down to a real low level, and we'll see if that helps.

As for a good assault rifle, the king is the Thermite fire assault rifle. Its got a real narrow cone of fire, even at max bloom. The physical and electric one require you to burst since the cone gets real bad. The fire one you can just lay on the trigger and watch stuff die. The saddest moment I had in game (other than the constant crashing) was when my old thermite rifle couldn't be upgraded anymore. But then a few levels later I found the upgraded version so I'm happy again.

I've got a question about ignites/phases/stuns etc. I know you can increase your chance of procs if you lower their resistances, ala beacon, etc. But does adding ignite strength increase the chance too? Ignite rarely procs for me, and I'd like it to proc more, especially when fighting Hellmeats.

Ignite damage and fire damage are two different damage types. You can add mods that increase ignite damage for higher proc rates.

Hmmm who sells them then? I didn't see them on the standard merchant, but then again I can't say I was actually looking for them there either.

Do weapon mods get calculated into the displayed weapon stats? I dropped 7%, 12%, and 6% electric damage mods into an electric rifle and the damage still reads 6-8. Also tried a 14% spectral damage mod, again no change.

Guardians needed in groups!...or not. Considering the possibility to runīnīgun that other classes have you dont NEED a tank (not that you even need a group but thats another discussion ). You need tons of damage output in nightmare, and super fucking mobility. Guardians with their anchor and damage mitigation, while nice, dont really carry their own weight in a group (consider that grouping scales the mobs) since the taunt/tank/spank scenario dont work very well in a game with no healers (might be diffrent if you party with a summoner who max out WD? cants say). In my experience in Nightmare your Prayer of healing and shit dont scale too well to the challange.

These are just my oppinions ofc /shrug.
Hmmm I fear for my newly made guardian if this is true. I am enjoying myself much more now thne my summoner who while owned had to 'run away' alot. My guardian is just run in an attack. I am really leaning towards this combo AoR/AoD build.

Guardian Skill Tree

So far I am only level 10 with all stat points into stamina.. I am attempting to go on a all +stats gear build as to get the best effect from AoR and AoD is there for... well if a situation arises where it would better suited.... I am also tired of the "theme drops" I just destroy them or sell the ones I can. Hopefully a maxed stamina guardian in nightmare is fun to play. I'll avoid elite atm till they give it better drops or something.

I'd be wary of spending all your skill points on one stat. At higher levels you really have to stretch your stats across all lines in order to maintain a decent level of equipment. As a marksman you'd think I'd go ballswalls accuracy. But I've basically got all my stats around 75-80 (except strength). I'm still having trouble equipping things. Between high mod weapons (which are the best), armor, and the gun itself, I'm just barely scraping along.

Yeah, I have a level 21 Gaurdian, I have had to sink points into stamina, wisdom, and strength in order to equip gear (except Stamina, just need hps in that regard). I also picked up the strength skill, name escapes me, in order to need less str requirements for equipment. I have head, weapon, shield, waist, chest, shoulders 3 star (unique), I have yet to see any set items legendary, or whatever the 4 star and above items would be called.

Are there any 4 star or higher items in the game? Or sets for that matter?

BTW, I use a a fire splash damage, with shield turn and shield bash as my main points of attacks.

Yeah it does, but the display won't update. In your case your total damage output is boosted by 25% electrical and 14% spectral damage. You should also keep in mind, that it's a good idea to chose mods, that aren't the same base damage as your weapon. It helps a lot with the minigame, especially if you find a high ROF weapon.
