+40 Internets | Great post. For me, the thing with a number of the classes is that people still haven't figured out how everything works. Particularly, the various weapon sub types and how they are at their optimum at different ranges. Some of the classes/builds/weapons are easy to understand and its obvious off the bat how they will play and some it will take a while for us all to figure out. |

It is fun, but relative to the other classes it is easily the "most gimp." You rely on getting modded weapons, switching weapons for the scenario, and semi-sploit stacking of buffs along with actually using energy for stuff to be competitive to what other classes (pretty much all of them?) can do BEFORE using the energy sappers. Escape is crucial but I still count it as "dying" in that both situations you didn't win. Simply put, the guardian gets in that same situation and kills everything. You have to escape as a marksman. In the long run I can see marks being very strong depending on how they balance the effects triggered by melee. If it continues to not matter, and melee chars can just run in and hold down attack / ae attack, then the benefit of being at range does not balance the decrease in relative power. The way you describe marks is clearly how they want the class to be played, and it is gratifying at least, where you are really required to pull the most out of your abilities and the concept of modding / finding items for certain situations ![]() | |

| Evokers also have the fun handicap that they have to get lucky with their weapon drops or have their friends hand them over, as focus items don't spawn on the crafter. That said, Marksmen are very useful at higher levels - a couple of guildmates are up to about halfway through Nightmare, and the Marksman of the group does disgusting damage. Of course, he's socketed out a 600hit/minute gun with ignite strength, fire damage, and procs based on hit chance, so it's sorta silly watching the entire level blow up.

| Anyone had a chance to play around with the new Molotov Assault? It's hard to imagine they put a splash damage component on it without nerfing the after effects a bit, because that skill is damn sexy. |

| I'm pretty interested in Marksman and Evoker theorycraft. The other classes bore the shit out of me, not enough scaling/math.

| I just started a Gaurdian last night after shelfing my marksman (21). The marksman is a great class that requires thinking, and proper speccing to be strong. I am interested in elite mode at the end though and want to be a class that groups will need. Marks and BM seem to be a dime a dozen so I am done with mine for now. That said. My guardian is like level 5 I started it at like 3am so didnt have to strength to do much with him. Is Shield Turn the ability that they use to AE rooms? I took a quick glance at the tree and was expecting to see some type of AE hit like the BM but didnt notice any. If its Shield Turn I hope it hits harder then shield bash or clearing out the room will take awhile ![]() |

+1 Internets | Splash phase, and direct fire for bosses. Shield turn is decent aoe dps if you pump points into it, and there's another (terrible) aoe ability linked to prayer of healing. Also elite mode is pretty broken for a number of reasons. Though it's a tossup whether it's any more broken than the game proper. |
